Gerber Love thread.

+100. I wish I coud own the auto, but it's awesome either auto, FAST, or manual. 06 Rocks.

This made me pick up a Gerber Tanto FAST from Wal-Mart this morning. So far so good. Never had a FAST knife from Gerber. Deployment is a little weak, but nothing to complain about.

Now the DMF is on the list. I will get the Tanto version of that as well.

Anyone tried the Answer Fast?

A guy at work has a Gerber Combat Folder Applegate(?) I really want it!! It is bad @ss!!

It's a great knife for sure and I love mine!

I've also had two gerber mini paraframes; despite what others have said, both were well built and had solid lockup; no issues whatsoever and were very easy to sharpen to almost hair whittling sharp. I had a large paraframe years ago that I really enjoyed as well, it was a good user too.

I'm probably the one person that found a little soft spot for the very weird Gerber Remix. It's definitely not some amazing knife by any stretch of the imagination, but the forward finger hole was really comfortable. Especially since I have large hands, small folders can sometimes be hard to get a grip on.

I know it's goofy!

Only Gerber I will probably ever own. I have been wanting one of these for a while now.

Just found this one and now all is good. Made in the US.

LOVE, I say, LOVE my US made Covert. One of the best knives I own. There is a bill to remove the 4" limit on knives in my state, TN. I would love to be able to carry a Applegate Combat Folder. But for now I have my Covert and am happy!

My issue with Gerber is that I've never seen one that I wanted. I don't peruse their product line often so I'm sure I could find something if I wanted to but I just don't want to like Gerber either. Even when I was a kid in Boy Scouts and I knew nothing about the Gerber brands rep I thought that my swiss army knife or leatherman wave was miles ahead of any model gerber my friends purchased.

I just bought two more of the Bell & Carlson S30V fixed blade gators on clearance from my favorite online hunting and fishing store in Nebraska. :) My first one arrived today, and the S30V is shaving sharp on it, not to mention it's a great all around hunting/fishing design. I'll give the other two to my hunting buddies.

Gerber was my favorite brand in the 80s. Happily I still have the ones I bought then and have added afew more from that era:

Gerber Flik
Gerber Basic

i have a gerber FLIK multi tool. have had it for about 3 years now and is still my only multi tool. i love it and have grown with it and used it for so many things and have good memories of it. me being only 17 i still have years to grow with it still.

i recently bought the gerber basic fixed blade knife. the small little tool just looked very nice and i had to have it. havent even used it yet but will when i go out to friends farms or wooded areas.

i want the shard on my keychain soon.

I really like the gerber gator folders and fixed blades, not so much the hatchet or machetes.

Scored a few bell and carlson fixed blade gators from an online outdoor gear retailer for 29.99 shipped. Considering they are S30V I consider it a hell of a deal.

Have done testing and alot of carving with it, nice little basic knife.

I have an Instant and a Mini Paraframe neither of which im too fond of. But I do want to get a folding Gator, EZ out, Silver Knight, and maybe the fast draw. My brother has the Paraframe II, its a decent beater knife for $20

what is that Runit? it looks cool!
It is a Gerber Freeman in s30v steel. An oldie but a goodie. I just acquired it and it is in great shape, except for the sheath which has seen better days but still does the job.

I grew up with the Buck 112 & 110 plus the ""GATORS"" and back then they were "the Knives".!!** To bad we can't go back.* LOL

As I mentioned in the other Gerber thread, I still enjoy and carry my early Gerbers. I did pick up this Bear Grylls Compact Fixed Blade on the cheap and it's a dandy little knife. Takes a scalpel edge and the design closely resembles and feels a bit like a Tracker Dan blade. I'm really enjoying this one.

My Gerber Basic is my EDC. I just love this tough little knife. I only wish it didn't have the serrations. It replaced my old Paraframe that I had for years.
My Gerber Freeman with the pear wood handles is my second favorite knife. It fits my hand perfect and was hair shaving sharp out of the box.

I got a Freeman folder last year for a ridiculously low price and I'm really impressed with the quality.

I got lucky and found my Freeman on eBay, nib from old stock with the leather sheath still made in Taiwan. I was looking for the Cabella's version in s30v stainless but had no luck. I'm still real happy with it. Took some pics tonight so I thought I'd post them.
The Paraframe in the middle is soft touch camo. I got it at BassPro about 4 years ago. It's the only one like it I've seen.
