Get ya thinking caps on-Competition !

So I have been down with a flu bug for a couple of weeks and keep trying to push through it. Last night I decided I would cure it or kill it. Took some cold meds, nyquil and had a few beers. This morning I got up to see that I had drawn a picture of a knife. Still feel like the devil and decided a career in knife design probably isn't in the cards. Anyway, thought I would post up just for grins and giggles. It seemed much better in my head.

Actually those bloodshot eyes on the handle were my attempt to draw what I think they call fisheye bolts or corby bolts. Can't remember the name for sure but I sure like the look odf them on some of the Blind Horse offerings.

This was the photo that was up on the PC this morning. Guessing the recurve in the pic must have been the inspiration for this little gem. :)

Still only 7 entries if my counting is right, I thought people would be all over this, maybe everyone is waiting till the last minute !!!!

2 weeks, 8 entries I believe? I really figured there'd be more action myself.

Did it ever get decided as to what the winner was getting?

Seems to me that there's usually about this many in a contest but maybe not. I'm cool letting in run a little longer but I'm not sure you're going to get any more bites.

Pit, list al the official names of the entries .. I will see what these mod powers wil do

I can't remember how to do a poll on this forum...anyone help me out ?

When you submit a new thread, "Yes, post a poll with this thread
Number of poll options: (Maximum: 20)" is a check box at the bottom of the screen.
Hope this helps.

These are the folks that submitted pics of theire entries.
Hope you don't mind my helping out.

You asked for it!

Here is my Wohlwend Wastelander concept. A 3-1/8" blade with a similar tip to my ASK, a full-size contoured handle reminiscent of a KA-BAR in shape with Micarta scales with rubber mat palm swell for a sturdy, grippy handle that is virtually impervious to the elements, held in place with three tubes and two pins. The grind would be full or high flat or full or high convex and would be either 3/32" or 1/8" thick 1095 or O1. If Mark forges it he could use a small ball peen hammer to forge the finger guard area so that the steel spreads out, making it even more comfortable because there wouldn't be a 3/32" or 1/8" piece of steel rubbing against your skin.

Here's mine. Inspired by the kukri. A little different but still not totally crazy. I call it the "Mini-Kooker." :D

Okay so this is my entry, I call it The Bush-tucker because I think it could do everything food related from processing a Whitetail or Squirrel, preparing ya freshly caught Trout for the campfire to cutting up hotdogs and salad veggies.

Although designed specifically for food prep the blade with it's slim sharp convexed grind would also lend itself to Bushcraft duty making camp tools, trap parts and fuzz sticks.

Not the greatest drawing in the world but I'm sure ya get the idea !

Ps...I should add my drawing means the blade is from 1/8" stock steel and it has a Micarta handle....not 1/8" Micarta !!!!

I've never attempted to design a knife before today but I HAD to give it a try.
I'm not a regular poster here BUT I absolutely LOVE the Booshway!!!
Here is my attempt at a design. (sorry about the pic. I don't have a scanner)

Mr. Wohlwend you have some FANTASTIC pieces.
Thank you to you and pitdog for the chance at designing your next piece.

Here's my entry. I couldn't get the scale color to show on the drawing.
Just imagine wavy lines of contoured black/gray canvas micatra contrasting with the satin finished steel blade.
