GiantMouse GM2

For those who got the GM1, is this going to be one of those things where I have to be there right at 9am and the site is going to crash and I'm going to miss it unless I'm lucky or should it be fairly easy to snag one if you're there at 9?

I love the designs of these knives, but I don't understand the pricing. They're made by Viper Technocut, which is selling Viper-branded folders with equivalent materials, construction, and complexity (like the Fortis which is a Voxnaes design no less, and the Italo which shares the milled handle of the GM2) for sub-$200. The secondary market prices for new GM1's fell by $50 before the primary market even ran dry, so the high price isn't supply/demand driven, even with the limited runs. Why isn't this just another Viper product priced along the rest of their line?

The GM1 took months to sell out.

I was under the impression these were much better quality than the Viper knives, despite being designed by the same group.

I picked up both the gm1 and gmf1 and quality is second to none. I have carried the gmf1 for past month and that seems to be the one for me. I hope they keep it up on the site tomorrow as I will order a second.

The quality is definitely a step above standard Viper offerings. Including the Viper Vox collaborations.

The GM1 and Fortis that I've handled were at comparable levels of quality and finish. Samples vary, but the fit and action of the Fortis was far better.

My examples were the opposite. I had to do a bit of work on the Fortis to get the action and lockup right. Not so on the GM1.

Definitely not -- the first models took months to sell out.

I'm going for the GM2 CF version I've decided. It looks great with the milling and the weight difference just makes it make way more sense that the GMP2 version. I can't wait!

GM2 (300 pieces CF): $325.00
GMP2 (100 pieces Bronze Anodized TI): $375.00
GMF2 (unlimited): $165.00
GMF2-P (100 pieces): $

Thanks...I think you are right. The fixed blade jumped in price. Possibly more material as well as scales drove the price increase.
