Hi. I've just finished new knife.
Stabilized redwood burl, brass, N9E carbon steel (ĄISI 1095). I think it is worth showind, mostly cause of this beautiful wood piece from Burl Source.

Hello. I'm back, but only for a while. Going offshore in 3 weeks form now. Hope to finish 4 knives though.
This is the first one.
Basically similar to the one i made for Worldwood but with few improvements (at least i hope those changes are for better)
Handle is bigger and more beefy, with additional profiling for better grip. Bevel starts about 0.500 inch in front of the handle as its more secure this way.

Have not check the pics from earlier posts, do you make a smaller knife for utility or for camping? 3 - 5 inch blades, just curious, great work.

Zieg, Worldwood is right. About 14".

cbach8tw i mostly make knives with blade longer than 6" though i also made couple of smaller blades as well.

Hi guys.
Latest blade from my workshop.
Big chopper rather than a sword but gladius was the inspiration
I will probably add flat paracord wrap.
almost 27" overall length.
CF, SS, vulcanized fiber.
NZ3 carbon tool steel about 0.270" thick.

First of many short swords i think. Though it is labor consuming i really like the effect.

Thanks guys. I must say i'm not an expert on swords (as well as knives for that matter) but it seams to me that gladius construction was really superior. and though my version is heavier than the original it feels really great in hand. I like the idea of short double edge sword like this so probably i will make couple more.
Probably at the beginning of next year though as i have other orders and probably soon i will visit US for my offshore job (GOM).
