Jax,

This is to help, not insult. I am not posting this link sarcastically. From your posts, it seems to me you lack impulse control. When I train kids and adults in martial arts, some have ADD, and so I needed to learn how to handle the variations of the syndrome. Your behavior strikes me as very much like what I see from them in some cases. You might want to do some reading at the Attention Deficit Disorder Association site: http://www.add.org .

One of the main characteristics of ADD is impulsiveness -- especially emotional impulsiveness. Check it out, and hope it helps you get control of yourself a little better.

Best,

brian.

Ya know, I've been here for a while now, this forum really seems to be on a down hill slide,...

Yeah, I agree...it seemed to coincide with my arrival here and my getting into knives.

Anyway, I know I don't really have any notoriety here and haven't had a hell of a lot of constructive input knife-wise as I'm more charged by the political discussions. In the knife related threads I'm definitely one of the "me-too" guys who busts out the smilies when a great knife is displayed and so forth. So maybe I'm really not a knut and fit in less than well here.

Anyway, these personal attack threads were intially kind of cool like a car wreck, but now it's getting aggravating. "What is the pet name of your schlong?" was another gem. I wrote a moderator (in confidence I thought) indicating that there are some religious types, kids, and women that frequent the board and I was absolutely crucified (albeit in abstenia until I 'fessed up). A lot of the smarmy crap is spilling into the legit knife threads as well, or else I would just try to ignore it.

So, there are a lot awesome folks and very good guys and gals here (even the ones I disagreed with in the political discussions). I just bought a new truck and that is going to be sucking up my resources for the forseeable future so I'm going to have to enjoy the few bowies and folders I managed to collect during January and February and call that about it for the year. Everyone be well and thanks for having me.

I'd like to welcome the newer members to Bladeforums, and I'd like to explain this website is divided into a lot of different forums and three of them are very different from the others: TGB&U (this forum), the Political Arena, and the Whine & Cheese Forum are worlds of their own and I'd really hate for anybody to get the idea all of Bladeforums is like any of those three forums.

Mostly, this is a friendly place, and new members are welcome. :)

So if a formite had a whiplash for sale in December for $350.00, but sold it to Jack for less than that and then turned it right around and was hell-bend on getting $400.00 and NOT a penny less, and applies very high pressure tactics, and this is his standard MO, what is he?
And when Jack buys a knife here and then posts it for more than he paid, then comes back with a five buck reduction every hour, but NEVER re-sells for less, what is he?
And when he buys to sell, and sells what he buys for more than he bought it for and pressures the heck out of sellers who have knives he knows will turn a profit and haggles with high pressure, and is very impulsive, what is he?

IMHO, he is a knife-DEALER with ADHD:p :p :p
and Jack wants me to call him GOD. Jack I prefer the title of DEALER, it fits ya better:p :p ....................Ira

I've said it before, and will say it again...

If you have specific proof that Jaxurman is a dealer, and is engaged in dealer activities, step up to the plate and let me know.

For example, if Jaxurman bought a knife X in one thread and turned around and resold it immediately in another, well, that would be proof enough, if there is a pattern of this.

I don't have time to compare 70000 threads and ferret this out for myself.

Those of you complaining the most should be able to provide me with links very rapidly. Then I'll be able to take action.

Otherwise, leave it alone - groundless suspicion is just that - groundless.

Kevin

Gentlebeings, we all have our own personal definitions of where to draw the line between a collector who trades a lot and a professional dealer. Spark owns this website and it's his personal definition that determines whether someone is allowed to trade here without having to pay for a dealer membership. He is aware of the volume of trading jaxurman does here and he has decided that does not in itself put him across the line, not where Spark draws the line.

You might draw the line somewhere else, and your personal definition might make as much sense as Spark's, but it's Spark's definition that applies for the purpose of deciding who has to pay for a dealer membership to trade here and who doesn't.

Look at the bright side ... you can start a forum of your own if you want, and apply your own personal definition to who has to pay for a dealer membership at your forum.

Even if you don't want to start your own forum you can decide for yourself whether you want to deal with jaxurman or not. You can read other people's accounts of their experiences trading with jaxurman right here in this forum, you can consider what everybody has to say about their experiences and what jaxurman has to say about that, and when accounts differ you can decide for yourself who you believe.

P.S. I wrote that before Spark's last post and now it seems kind of unnecessary, but what the heck, might as well leave it here....
