those who have dealt with me know how i am .it is unfair for those who have never spoken to me or dealt with me to cast judgement upon me .once jeff yarber indicated to me that his daughter /wife could read e mails , i apologized .yes i used the "f" word .yes i know that it truly is "ghetto". but i apologized . i still believe he handled things wrongly .certainly , i was not going to pass on the knife for 2.35 .i told him the 555.00 was a round figure easier on my obsessive -compulsive mind . in fact he said i was playing games wrong again . i take my dealings and collecting seriously . i told him 560.00if that was the problem . he was not sincere in his dealing with me .jeff be honest , you never liked me from the get-go .as for jeremy reynolds comments on my phone manners hmmmmmm???read his post in whine and cheese where he says that i was very calm or something to that effect . now he says i was cussing like a sailor :confused: .it was never my intentionto attempt in any way to ruin his rep on this forum .it is as i know , jeff is in fact probably better liked than i . this post came out in frustration , in his ignoring my attempts tp discuss this by phone my dime to resolve the issue period . after his ignoring my many e mails in attempt to resolve a misunderstanding . never did i try to be meanspirited .i only wanted the mayo ap tanto tnt as promised .never did i refuse the knife . i desperately tried in vain , to work it out .he was not nice to me in my attempts .this is the first time today on the computer . no , i do not hide as some have alluded to .i tried very hard to resolve this . i wanted this since it was a proto and i collect protos and since meeting tom , his very nice talonite folders which i consider to be among the finest tactical folders in the world !!!!bi -polar , probably , obsessive -compulsive definitly !!! sad , very much so .i lost my best friend in the whole world nearly 6 months ago .my dad . i cry every day for him not being here . my behavior is never meant to offend , to annoy or antagonize cept in jest towards the people who dont realy know me and have made wrong assumptions about me , my upbringing , or charachter . as for my gbu post .wolfman 601 again has incorrectly stated that i make it a requirement of those who have dealt with me , again this is entirely FALSE AND A BIG LIE !!!!i am not saying that i havenot asked at the end of a deal for anyone to post about our deal .that i have but never DEMANDING , only AASKING !! this all could have been avoided if only jeff yarber would have communicated with me instead of acting as a smug little creep !!!!respectfully :) JAXURMAN

You can still be calm while cursing like a foul mouthed biker. All i posted were facts of the conversation. The reality, is you conned and bullied me into deleting my posts, and I was a big pussy for allowing it to happen.

Jack, you are upset you didn't get the knife. Understandable, but not such a big deal that you needed to try to destroy Jeff's good name on this forum. Jeff was well within his rights to sell the knife to whomever he wanted to. This deal just didn't work out for you. There will be hundreds more that will. There will also be more that won't. The thing not to do, is to post that a respected member of this forum is dishonest because you felt that Jeff used the $2.35 as an excuse not to sell the knife to you. There is nothing dishonest in what was done. Next time something like this happens tell the person you are dealing with that you will send him a little more than he is looking for instead of a little less. That way the other person in the deal will have no choice but to sell you the knife if they had said they would, contingent on you agreeing to their price.

Even if $2.35 seems like a paltry amount for which to lose out on this knife, it was you that left the door open for that possibility. You may be a big time player, but you learned something from this deal, or at least I hope you did. In the future, if you really want a knife that badly, don't haggle for pennies. Make sure when you are given a price that you are willing to pay that you agree to the amount requested. If you want to offer a rounded out price, make sure it is rounded up, not down. Then you will have all your bases covered. If you would rather always try to get a little bit the better of the deal, then be prepared to lose out on some of them and don't whine about it.

It would probably also be a good idea if you don't email people using vulgar language. That will not endear you to the other person.

it was not my intent to attempt to destroy gig ones rep on the forum .everyone likes to point fingers at me . believe me , he too , should have and could have handled things differently . i many many times e mailed him , not to harrass, but only to attempt to resolve this issue . i offered to call him or for him to phone me . i truly think talking this one thru would have resolved it . i really wanted the proto for my collection , not to resell .i was disappointed that he treated me with no respect . instead scoffing at me , etc.i did apologize for my profanity certainly not wanting to offend the wife children etc . i agree not cool :( my bad . i had agreed to the price .after his last e mail . i told him to mark it sold to me .certainly would not refuse over2.35 for express vs priority shipping . he wanted to taunt me about the knife , again , percieved the way he handled things as both underhanded and dishonest .i did not just run and post in gbu !!! only after his failure to communicate , continued ignoring , refusal to call or allow me to call , and the taunts !!! i excercised good faith !! he did anything but . many many forumites have dealt with me in mega dollar deals . yes i am a negotiator , yes i am very serious , but never do i intentionally disrespect or taunt anyone i deal with , especially when they are dealing in good faith !!!i would be the first to apologize here if i felt in my heart i was wrong !!! i was wrong and apologized on what i felt i was wrong on !! use of profanity !!! i am and remain a proud man !! respectfully JAXURMAN
 
Wolfman is good with misquoting people, still I cannot say it enough, I don't understand how this happens in a forum setting where all the information is easily referneced... but it still happens in many conversations which just sparks things up further since few will actually read the entire thing in depth. My post in no way is defending Jaxerman, I think he is wrong for demanding anything. Demanding a knife in return for what? Your removal of you threats? Thats like a retraction of a cover story on the 35th page two weeks later.

Knives come and go, there's another deal waiting after this one, but alienating people is a sure way to shut down your chances at them.

Four pages already and people upset, too ... but no one lost a penny on the deal :confused: What happened ???

sorry but i cant jack bash w/everyone else, he's always done me right, never insisted i post GBU(never), helped me out w/my first custom knife, given me a lot of info on prices, etc, and above all, has never conducted himself as anything but a gentleman to me/my wife/my son..............

are we talking about the same guy??

i havent ever dealt w/the other members involved in this, so i cant judge what went right/wrong, and certainly no offense to them, but i have dealt w/jack, and would/will again

a tough trader, yes, ya better do your homework when ya deal w/him, but an *******, NO, not my experience at all - have talked to him on the phone several times, and, other than he will call ya late (which i dont mind, but the kids gotta be asleep by 11PM, and, after mentioning that, he never calls after 10PM) i honestly dont have a single prob w/jack, personally

doesnt bother me that he has my #, if anything, he might call me to BS about some new knife, etc no harm done

so, i guess point being, he's always done me right and never been anything but polite and honorable w/me

as sifu reminded me and others , i have called people late, forgetting honestly that people are asleep !!!!:( my bad to all i have phoned late , sorry , no disrespect intended or implied :( sometimes in my enthusiasm in deals , i have been negligent in thinking of where i am calling and the time .again i apologize to anyone i called late, woke up etc. sifu is a good guy .he is not afraid to tell the truth about me . he is neither defending me , nor villifying me , just speaking the truth thanx JAXURMAN

your post makes no sense :confused: .when wrong , i do admit and apologize .your comments in your last post were uncalled for .this whole thing is not about a knife .its about a mans word .its about integrity and honor .if gig one would have handled this right ,, none of this crap would be going on . believe me, i dont like it anymore than the rest of the forumites . if everybody gangs up on me then , oh well .i came on this forum , and people gave me crap . i have my integrity , i have my honor no matter what .it shall forever , remain intact .there are many on this forum who do not like me .and there are many more that do .there is not one forumite who can honestly say that i owe him anything or that i screwd over anybody .i am very proud of that !!!:) JAXURMAN
 
Jack, I would kind of like to know what your side of the story is in regards to what BRP/Bob Porter posted earlier in this thread. What he says happened to him sounds an awful lot like what you say happened to you in this transaction, except he posted that you actually had agreed to the deal.

Personally, I am not in favor of banning Jack. If I ever read another post about him verbally abusing someone, either by email or phone, that opinion is going to change. I am hoping that Jack has learned that this is not the way to show that you respect the other person that you are dealing with.

I find Jack to be an eccentric. A little eccentricity is not necessarily a bad thing. He can also be terribly annoying, but that is not confined to Jack. Should we ban everybody that shows that they have the ability to be pin heads? Maybe Jack will have gained some knowledge from this whole fiasco and he will be a better person because of it. If not, I am darn sure we are going to hear about it.
 
I'm not terribly excited about banning Jack either, but...I know I'm a LOT less inclined to post anything these days. Between Underdog threatening to attack me at every oppourtunity, and the fact that Jack does go into "attack" mode every time he sees my name.

It's just not worth the hassle of posting with him around. Makes me wonder if others feel the same way.

Mike, I don't agree with everything you post, but I'm still glad to have you around, to have as many different opinions as we can get. I even like the occasional soap opera, which this sure is.

If someone really gets to you like that, just do one or more of the following: 1) scroll on by, 2) scan through it, snort, and scroll on by, 3) scan through it, snort, scroll on by, and post a :D for an answer.

Or give him hell right back ... but have a snack while you're doing it. Don't get yourself an upset stomach over it.

Personally, Jack doesn't bother me a bit. I never did business with him, I find some of his posts funny, but mostly I find that massive block of stream-of-consciousness writing more trouble than it's worth to read it. It is easy to identify, though, which makes it easy to mentally delete.
 
I have found there are some people it is best to avoid. I will not ever accept trade or other offers from certain people. Jaxurman, Doc Bart, there are others...It's not hard to see what people are like, even if you can't see or hear them. "We shall know them for the fruit of thier deeds".

This sounds so out of line until you have been attacked by him. What if it gets worse? What if one day he decides to take it a step further. I don't want to be the one that said, "If I hadn't given him another chance this would have never have happened." With what I saw/heard, it won't be too long before someone makes a local claim on him to their local Police/FBI Office. For this I want him stopped. We already have a hard enough time making people understand that knives are tools not just weapons ... we don't need people like Jack making us all look like irrational psychos.

This is said; the GB&U is not suppose to be entertaining, but Jack has made it that way. :(

I would be embarassed if that many people said how wonderful I was, but Jack asks for it.
