Girlfriend Knives

I got my girlfriend a White FRN Dragonfly and until 4 days ago I got her an Emerson Snubby. She uses the mess out of the dragonfly. As for the emerson, thats going to get a makeover real soon to look more feminine looking.

My gf went from a CS mini lawman to a kershaw oso sweet, and ended up with a grasshopper on her keychain and she uses it more than i use my knives lol. She did buy me an Umnumzaan, so she understands quality but she likes cute.

Been through a few gf's and knives... First was a CRKT Navajo, Second was a Kershaw scallion in blue, third was a Kershaw leek, and... my wife... she has a kershaw RAM in red.

These many small Spydercos are great, but IMO the great basic knife for anyone most likely to get kept, used, and possibly induct someone into knife knutery is the SAK. I gave one to my sister many years ago and always had it in her purse. At first all her friends were giving her the same "ooh why do you have a knife?" nonsense we've probably all heard (yes even about a SAK!) but after months of asking her to cut things (not to mention tightening a screw or using the tweezers) they all started carrying them. Are they going to get into new steels, locks, etc? Probably not, but that's maybe 6-8 people who appreciate knives based on ONE birthday gift years ago.

Can't remember exactly what mine has, but it includes Brusletto Gubben, CS Spike, Spyderco Byrd Crow, CS Roach Belly, Victorinox Climber, Victorinox Classic, and this Lynn Dawson dagger.

Sometimes ladies like Opinels. They are a folding kitchen knife in a way. Tell her it's a "French picnic knife". Anything French is romantic you know. ;)

Sounds like an amazing family you've made haha how old are your girls if you don't mind my asking? And how old did they start carrying knives?

My girlfriend always said she needed to get a knife, and then one day she came across my orange delica. Needless to say, I didn't see it for about two weeks until I bought her a blue one (the one color she likes better than orange) and she is pretty happy with it. She now wants something bigger, and this is the girl that I took shooting and told me that my 380 was too small and wouldn't shoot anything but the 45. She's a little spitfire sometimes.

Also has a purple, blue and green Endura and an engagement ring made from carbon fiber by a local maker for me.

My Fiance (soon to be wife in less than 1 month) carries a Vic Companion. It was kinda an afterthought part of a gift for her birthday and she keeps it in the bottom of her purse. She uses the file and scissors a lot!

My girl has grown a bit fond of my satin digicam PM2 which is fine because I hardly ever carry it ever since I bought my Military. I put my own edge on it and put in some time on the strop. I plan to give it to her soon. Maybe i'll replace it with an all black PM2, i'm not sure. I think i'm growing out of the design.

My wife carries a Tenacious, and the little one in this picture, which I made for her:

No tiny knives for her!

The Ladybug is pretty cool though. I got one for free when I bought a knife at the Spyderco Factory Outlet. It's a neat little sheeple friendly knife that will do most city EDC tasks. Does fine against even tougher opponents like zipties, and nobody feels threatened by it. I suppose the SD crowd won't like it, but it's a perfectly functional little knife, even if it does look like it's a joke.

Congrats on the engagement and soon-to-be-marriage!

My fiance (wife in Feb.) loves my Dragonfly G-10. She likes the Foliage Green. Thinking about getting a Vic for her soon though.
