Give-away competition...photo time. WINNERS ANNOUNCED

This is neat. LOTS of thought and work are going into these photos.

When you see one that you really like, study it further to understand what it is that grips you. Props and other objects and shadows often compete for attention. View the ones that add both, yet show how well the KNIFE takes center stage.

I'm enjoying your good work, too. :)

Thanks for the chance.
I use this background in all of my shots, it just stuck.

For the theme not competition.

And then there is humor....

Some of you have seen this, I used it over on the Buck forum once when the 110 folks had been going on and on and on.........all hail king 110.

TheKing-1.jpg

I was writing some knife model histories for the Buck Collectors website and I usually liked to start out with a scene with props. Here is scene for the 319, with its leather punch blade these two variations went well with western theme gear.

Here is scene for the 313 Muskrat history, a Louisana based fur trapping/Cajun theme for the equal end skinner.

Then you can also use something simple tied to your knife.

I am always on the look-out for special rocks, fossils or wood that will serve for a interesting knife prop

In the end, as Coop suggests above, don't make scenes so complicated the knife is lost.

What a great idea Duncan!..Please exclude me from this competition as i have already been a benefactor of Duncan,s generosity...Id like to show my new favourite though?..An earlier John LLoyd slippy in walrus bone??...I love everything about this knife...cheers to you Clansmen.....FES

Wow! Cool photos, guys! Duncan, what a nice idea! And thank you for your generosity.

I usually take photos with a scanner since I like the detail that scans show.

When I do use a camera, I often take photos on a piece of drift wood that's hanging from the shed -- it's a convenient height.

I like outdoor photos a lot. Here's a photo that I took when picking blueberries. A sprig of fresh, wild blueberries on your plate makes a breakfast of blueberry pancakes even more enjoyable. ...a Case/Bose ebony Norfolk in your pocket makes most things more enjoyable.

A photo of the Case/Bose whittler with a view of the harbor in the back. I wish the background was more focused but I'm an amateur.

A photo that I took at Jordan Pond. The Erickson whittler is a hungry beaver. ;)

Up a creek... but I've got two paddles and a Case/Bose Sowbelly too. :)

Both Sue and I are enjoying immensely the fantastic work, johnnytwoshoes is going balistic, and is setting a great start with the number of photos
You guys gonna let him roll over you like this? :D, in saying that its not the number , but the photo, but the more you put in (of good shots), the bigger the chance.

Coop...thank you very much for coming in, and we have taken note of what you have said there Sir!

This is fantastic so far, usually my lovely lady isnt too fussed at looking at knives, but she enjoyed looking at these photos, and is accepting the challenge of taking on board your very hard work to judge the winner, so thank you everyone for giving sue a wonderful insight to our world of knives.
This competition will go for a wee while yet, but we cant let it go on for too long.....lets see...here its Thursday....this weekend, and next weekend to take the time to take some snaps-then I will close off the competition, and Sue has the daunting task of choosing...I promise not to sway her at all.
Thank you everyone.

Some times I'll share pictures that aren't really my favorite, but I've found some photos strike people differently. Thats why I posted so many, I also figure we're trying to share a photo journal of knives, I'm just trying to help with the journal.
Here is one if My favorites.
