Give-away competition...photo time. WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Can I say that I am so impressed with the effort that everyone has gone to here, and the great photo's by everyone, I dont envy Sue with the judging.
I am going to have a dig around and throw in a runner up prize knife, or knife book, we will just wait and see ;).
Thank you everyone...its Saturday here, I believe we are slightly ahead in time, so you have a day or so to get your pics in, then I will have to close off entries people, Sue on Wednesday will sit down and do her thing.
Thank you very much everyone.. I hope that all you fellow knife enthusiasts are happy with the final decision.
ps..cuts like a kris...that bottom right hand knife, is that the John Lloyd Mammoth Ivory knife that was for sale recently from Vince?...I was so so so close to pushing the button on that one... wow!

Duncan- Actually all four were from that sale- the two on the inside are the freebies that Vince gave with them! He has taken way too much of my knife funds, but it is very worth it!! I collect users and these are top of the line users, not perfect but perfectly usable- I've started calling them Blue Collar Gold Class knives.

Here is another pic, this time of a slipjoint given to me by Rob! of Ranger original, along with the block of stabilized Maple from a Canadian Christmas Exchange. (the flute was from an antique show). I really liked how it turned out.

Duncan, I think I'm done for a while.
I'd like to continue to share pics on this thread if you see it fit, I know this forum already has a photo gallery, but I think a thread devoted to traditional slipjoint pics would be awesome.
Thanks again for setting this up, it's a very generous giveaway and I hope that all who viewed it enjoyed it as much as I have. Personally, I just love any old picture, but when you asked for creative pics these guys really stepped up. Thanks for the good show guys, it's been fun.

My friend, your input has been great, the competition isnt over, you still have till the end of the weekend, how could I say no to more pics untill the end of the weekend
I agree about the Traditional pics thread, I know there are photo threads elsewhere, but we are traditional!
What do the mods think, shall we crank this Traditionals Photo thread up?

Did not see this til now. Please put me in for the give away. Duncan, I consider you a friend, even though we have never met.

Here are a few in my quiver.

I have really enjoyed this thread also. Thanks to everyone who has shared photos. This is what makes this subforum the best.

I prolly spend way too much time in whine and cheese, but traditional really is the cream of BF.

This thread is a real tour de force of traditional knife eye-candy. Nice job, everyone.

Hi Everyone, ok...we will close off the entries now, Sue will Judge the photos tomorrow night, and as soon as the decision is made I will post it.
Thank you very much everyone for your great effort in giving us some great eye candy!

Duncan,
I think you've done a very nice thing for this subforum. For some reasons, this thread turned into a kind of familiar lunch where everybody brings what he can cook, and nobody is too interested in the competition, as much as in enjoying the food and having a good time. It couldn't get much better than that, I guess.
I'm sorry I could not contribute (I had troubles with my camera so my photoshooting weekend was over before it even started), but I did appreciate alot staring at the pics in this thread, and whoever will get your knife (too bad for me, I love GEC #56) will have deserved it.

I have to agree. I've enjoyed looking at everyone's photos, regardless of competition. The person who wins, surely will deserve it. Thanks for the great thread, and if anyone wants to keep posting after the giveaway, I'll keep looking!

Duncan, this is not an entry of course - I'd only like to thank you for this great thread! I enjoyed it very much.

Fall is almost here :)

Nice photo, Sextant. It makes that swayback look so rich and substantial that it almost seems like a custom.

Good luck, everyone.

Well, I didn't get a photo up, due to other issues I had to contend with and none of my photos would make me a winner anyway. Be that as it may, the give away and the photos are wonderful. Thanks for the give away Duncan and someone is going to be happy with the prize!! I am waiting, not very patiently, for the announcement of the winner. I saw a bunch of pictures here I think worthy.

Ed
