This is tough! So far, the names that stand out to me are our wonderful moderators Frank and Gary. 5KQ's is a given. Those multi quote posts in the carry thread are truly epic. I've tried to mimic his style before, but it was just too much for me. Mrknife also gets a vote. He's a very active and generous member who always seems eager to help out.
I'm sure more "must list" names will come to me, but for now those are my picks.
 
Okay, I'll add one more. KBA was one of the members and hat stuck out to me early on. It was great to see him start posting regularly again after his talks of leaving the knife game for a bit. I will admit to doing a bit of breezing through forum posts at times, but he's one of the guys I always stop to read regardless of the topic at hand.
 
Thank you to all that posted and nominated friends! Reading all of your comments and the wonderful things that members have done for one another was very uplifting. Happy New Year to all!

That was the coolest giveaway that I've seen here! Congrats to the winner, who I don't know but am sure is very deserving!
 
Wow! What a nice surprise to find out my number (actually afishhunter's number) came up for this outstanding GAW! Thanks to JITDC for his generosity in giving away that elegant blackwood Northfield Barlow, and especially for the creative way that he did it! :thumbup: I thoroughly enjoyed thinking about deserving members I could nominate, and it was great to read everyone's nominations acknowledging what a massive collection of outstanding folks frequent The Porch! :cool: It was also humbling to see myself nominated by several people, and it also kind of "puts the pressure on" for me to live up to some kind of reputation, when I'm just hanging around here trying to have a good time, relax a little, and learn some stuff about knives. :rolleyes: I really am thankful for the kind, generous, knowledgeable, helpful, thoughtful, and accepting community that I discovered when I stumbled across The Porch about 3 years ago! :thumbup::cool:

I'm going to have to think up something really special to do with this gift knife that will somehow enhance this fine community spirit; if you have suggestions, please contact me with your idea(s)!!
