Giveaway! I failed at modding and because.. why not?

Congrats to the winners!

On the joke subject..

My vacuum broke, so I just put a Washington Redskins sticker on it. Now it sucks again.

Here's one more..

Tony Romo got frustrated after the game a few weeks ago, he threw his helmet in anger, but it was intercepted and returned for a touchdown.

Sorry, I couldn't resist :D

Alright, I finally got around to fixing/modding that Recon in a moment of pure procrastination. Went with polycarbonate because there was a piece with just the right thickness, and it takes less time than aluminum or steel. As for the design, its a bit gaudy with the humongous jimping, I know, but I made it, and it works, so yeah :p

I know y'all like pictures, so here are the best pictures my entry-level smartphone can deliver:

Oh, and I had to reverse-engineer a fixture plate for this piece so it can go in a vise:

If anyone is interested in making CS Recon backspacers, I could probably get this fixture to you, along with DRO coordinates.

I'll end this post with another thank you to myowngod for giving me this bad boy to work with :D

I'd love to say that it was designed with maximum tactical grip for tactical operations with tactically gloved hands...

But the truth is that I spent somewhere between 20 and 30 seconds coming up with the design. It was mainly machining practice for myself.

To finish that of would be easy from here. Sandpaper over a mouse pad will round the edges slightly depending on pressure while removing as much or little material as needed.

Nice job, it turned out clean looking.
