Giving back contest

I'll take a guess Dan. The third piece, from left to right, appears to be a block of BurlSource redwood burl. I bought several but picked out my best piece and gave it to a friend. He is currently making his JS knives for the Atlanta show this year and hope he uses the block I sent him for one of his test knives. If I win, send me the third block. Maybe by next year, I can test for my JS and use this piece for a handle.

Thanks, Dylside. I've been wondering if I should end the contest sooner because of a lack of activity.

I've edited the first post to identify the woods.

I like the third one in the first picture, I have limited woodworking experience but the tools to make it possible. If I win it would be my first knife project. I would get either a spyderco mule or something similar like the distressed handled knives they were discounting recently in the Bush craft series. If I ran into too much trouble i am sure I can get some advice on line some where;)

The Swamp salvage redwood burl is what I like, I would use it on an edc I have in mind for myself to keep to replace the one i am currently carrying. It will be ats-34 with ss bolsters and ss pins, a straight up user, now...hurry up and roll my number lol.

Thanks for the chance, this places generosity is unbelievable.

I like the 3rd block best. I'm looking for a nice set of scales for a KITH I am making a knife for. I want something nice for it!

I'm loving the driftwood redwood burl. It seems to be begging for a damascus drop point to me.

Dan,

Great giveaway. I'd love to see one of the knives I am about to start (a Hunter/Skinner) dressed out in the First block: Swamp salvage redwood burl. Who could have imagined swamp salvage redwood burl? Just sounds awsome! Thank you for the opportunity, Sir.:thumbup::thumbup:

I am thinking that silver spalted maple on one of my coffin handle bowies would look awesome!!

Thanks for the great giveaway!!!

Dan - This is a great thing you're doing here!

I like the Silver Maple block on the far right. It has just the right color and grain orientation to be used as slabs for a sheath I'm conjuring up. The knife itself is a hunter sporting a handle of similarly colored Red Maple heartwood with some crazy grain.

Thanks for the opportunity.

I'm liking the second block (driftwood redwood burl) & given the opportunity would use it for a handle for my first batch of knives that I'm making.

I realy like the first block nice mix of wavy grain with a few eyes thrown in the mix. I have 3 on the bench at the moment and would have a hard time choosing wich one would get the nod

The dice came up 24! So the winner is mxlj.

Please PM or email me your name and mailing address and I'll get the blocks out to you.

WOW! I received my blocks today, i thought it was just the one you picked! I never expected all 4. All are Incredible looking wood. Thank you so very much Dan.
