His "GO" post was at 9:34, my post time in the "GO" thread after I sent my email was 9:36...wonder if I made it in time to get one???

I think you did well. My time would have been 937 but I was goofing around trying to find an unlocked ganza thread to bump.:D

I did find one but it was in swamp rat forum about a minute or two after real go.:D

Remember, some of these blades were pre-orders .....in the past folks have ordered a day or so late and still got in. See there is a starting time, but what I understand from rules there isnt a finish line....

You could still put in a wish list. Worst that can happen is you get a "NO".

I'd asked for an invoice by email a couple weeks ago; I checked it before contacting the shop and saw that they have me down for Green/Black G-10, which is what I'd have chosen from the G-10 list -- I guess green linen was just wishful thinking on my part after all.

I think my proixy's proxy put in an order for Black Paper or Black G10 (whichever was available) at Blade.

Hey quick question.....I saw some Gladius's on the exchange a couple weeks ago....Does anyone know how much they were going for? i could swear i remember someone selling a few for $350 each, but that just doesn't make sense. Am I crazy? i have to be.

yes you are certifiably insane:cool:;)

THe lowest I think was 712 + shipping just like Ganza.

okay, thanks. got to lay off that booze!!

I found this posted a few pages back, CG was $597 and the satin $997 at the show, with any subsequent releases to be priced substantially higher.

Im thinking this is too much difference on the satin.

I think I'll some of my Busse knives so I can afford one of these... They sure look sweet...

but was it really? were you at the show? can anybody who went confirm the satin Gladius price? a $900 markup seems ridiculous!?

it opens up possibilities of buying it on the exchange for cheaper than the ganza

Ya exactlly!!!

Search the forums and you will see for yourself, lots of threads stating this price.

ok thanks. guess we'll see if they show up on the exchange

I don't think anyone realizes how much work is put into one of these. I also don't think any is even considering how many people will not buy these and I don't think these will be offered again and everyone will be very very sorry. Look at how much the ID dagger, everyone thought that was too expensive and was hoping for it in a CG. And now I can't even get my hands on one, and so few are out there that there is like an exclusive club just for them. Yes, I regret not getting one when I had the chance.
Yes, you can probably get one stripped by someone and it's just not the same. Five years down the road, everyone will pay much more money knowing it came from the Custom Show in satin. Busse doesn't even really want to make them, look at the prices of the CG vs. satin. It's just so much work for them, so they would rather you buy a CG instead.
So trust me, if you got one of these, be proud cause there won't be that many around and it will more then hold it's value.

The satin was $997 at the show?!?!

Yes, they were $997 at Blade. However, I'd look at it from the direction that Busse Combat provided an exceptionally generous discount for the show. I'd consider a Custom Gladius and a MOAB to be fairly comparable, and those prices would be $1897 vs $2197. Don't forget that there's a lot of travel/lodging/dining/show tickets/parking expenses with a trip to Blade; this was the biggest show special that I recall, it's incentive to make the trip.

The CG Gladius was also discounted at Bade, although by less (I recall that they were $597, as opposed to $712 retail). If I hadn't been able to get a Custom Shop Gladius on order from Blade, I'd probably go the (sage) CG route, and maybe strip it -- most of the dimples would be machined away in production, although sage looks pretty good as-is. BTW, I saw one of them sell on another forum for $925 a few days ago; I suspect somebody wishes they'd waited a little longer.

Anyway, that's your confirmation, and I hope that it won't be the source of hard feelings. I think it's great that a CG version was offered as a lower cost alternative -- if you think $1897 is too much, that gives you an option.

true.. I'm waiting and hoping to see if I scored one. If you throw in the costs of going to Blade it justifies it a *little* more :D

The extra cost of this Ganza $900 bucks would pay for the trip to Blade, so we get none of the fun and twice the cost.

The more I think about it the stupider I get...........
