Well, I got my email and for the first time ever I have backed out of my offer to buy a Satin Gladius at $1897.

I just cant get over the price discrepancy that YOU paid $997 and what I would have to pay for the same knife a couple weeks later.

The price difference between the CG Gladius at Blade $597 and the Ganzaaa price of $712 is more than reasonable. The satin price difference is crazy IMO.

Good luck with your jacked up sale prices dealers, this cat got out of the bag big time :)

This Ganzaaa was a epic fail for me :barf:

I don't think anyone realizes how much work is put into one of these. I also don't think any is even considering how many people will not buy these and I don't think these will be offered again and everyone will be very very sorry. Look at how much the ID dagger, everyone thought that was too expensive and was hoping for it in a CG. And now I can't even get my hands on one, and so few are out there that there is like an exclusive club just for them. Yes, I regret not getting one when I had the chance.
Yes, you can probably get one stripped by someone and it's just not the same. Five years down the road, everyone will pay much more money knowing it came from the Custom Show in satin. Busse doesn't even really want to make them, look at the prices of the CG vs. satin. It's just so much work for them, so they would rather you buy a CG instead.
So trust me, if you got one of these, be proud cause there won't be that many around and it will more then hold it's value.

The extra cost of this Ganza $900 bucks would pay for the trip to Blade, so we get none of the fun and twice the cost.

The more I think about it the stupider I get...........

... So were your posts above. :thumbdn:

I'm sorry that you feel that Jerry shouldn't have given those of us, who actually took the time and paid the expenses to go to BLADE, a great price on a satin Gladius. Gee... Someone does something nice and some folks just still have to b*tch because they feel slighted. :thumbdn:

No one's holding a GUN to your head, so if you don't want to buy the one you scored, that's fine...but don't get nasty salty because you missed a deal. :grumpy:

Oh...and whether you can understand this or not... These are worth every dollar of the Ganza price. Too bad you won't be finding this out. ;)

Heck, I need a car BAD...mine is dead right now. But I still am going to use my last money on my Satin Gladius. Yeah, it's A LOT of money, but my love (lust) for that thing over powers any common sense I might have right now!

I missed the Meaner Street Limited Edition when it came out in 2004 and I ended up paid over $700 for one.... and I'm still glad I got it!
Jerry did post pictures of the satin Gladius before the show so you had every chance to change your plans and go, so I thought that was very generous on his part. Busse collectors will pay what they need to, in order to get the knife they want. That includes me.
Don't look at what could have been, you should see what is avil with what is given to you opportunity wise and take it. I have seen many people buy knives at way less money before me and I will instantly offer them more money allowing them to make a profit without them having to do anything, even before they receive it. O, and I did offer the satin Gladius well below the Ganza price before the Ganza, only one person took me up on the offer and he is very happy.
That's life.

I wasnt nasty at all and your right my money and my koolaid glass is empty. What it shows is a lack of respect for all customers when you do this crappy pyramid marketing.

You got to go to Blade as in its fun not a chore right? or do you go to Blade as a business venture?

If what you post IS true I feel sorry for you and you will always be broke.

Hey man if you would have asked, i'm sure some Hog would have Proxyed for you and you could have scored a gladius from the blade show for said price. But you should'nt be mad about it. There's alot of Infi in a Gladius and alot of work. Also the best Warranty in the bussiness. So in the end you get what you pay for and then some.;)

LOL Yes, what I say is true, I'm no liar. I am also the kind of man that does what I say and when I make a deal with someone I honor it, no matter what I have to do. I sent an email to Amy and Jerry and said I want a Satin Gladius Black G10, Amy emailed me back and said that I got it, so now I'll pay for it, that's the deal and I will honor it. I'll just be broke for right now. It'll only take me a month to recover...but to me it's worth it!

I go to BLADE because I want to and it is an interest of mine. For me it is a vacation. I, however, DO NOT expect lower prices but I do appreciate Jerry and company hooking us up with the occasional deal for making it to the Show. Don't get upset because I can and did attend the Show.

And... IT DOES NOT SHOW DISRESPECT, nor is it "pyramid marketing" when a MAKER decides to cut a those of us who do pay the expenses to go the BLADE a break out of the goodness of his heart.

Yes...I drank the KoolAid... And IT IS GOOD. :D

This statement is the key point that everybody is missing. I would dare say that at .30" thick with a fuller down the middle and a full convex zero edge on both sides of the blade and a longer overall length than a MOAB that these are actually a steal at $1897.

I know plenty of people, myself included that have a MOAB and didn't squeak one bit about the price which was IIRC $2197. If you are not one of those that can make it to Blade or has a friend that went for you then you are not getting slighted by any means. The Show discount was an incentive to get people to go to Blade and the other shows to get the deals, and I'll tell you what, I will be at Blade next year, so it worked on me.:cool:

I'm really surprised you feel slighted. I know for a fact that Busse Combat doesn't gouge its loyal following... As has been said before by others already, the price is perfectly in line with other similiarly classed knives from Busse and rightly so. The materials and work that goes into making one of those soon to be Busse classics is not cheap...

Jerry gave the people who went to Blade an AWESOME price on a Satin Gladius. But the people who went to Blade did so at their own expense, and I can gaurantee that Airfare, Hotel, Rental Cars, Taxis and all of the other expenses not to mention taking time off from work cost as much or more than the savings you would get at Blade. Jerry knows this and essentially gives those attending special pricing because that is the type of person he is...

It's too bad you've decided to take this approach to protest. The smart path would have been to nicely decline the knife and make friends with the Hogs here and gotten someone to proxy for you next year so you could then get one of those special deals. I can tell you from experience that burning your bridges isn't the proper way to do anything. I do know that Jerry and Busse Combat will survive nicely without you.

Adeiu and good luck,

Les.

It's actually called basic economics and good business practice. Supply and demand.

If no Satin Gladius had sold through the Ganza, then yes the price is way too high for what the market demands. However, this isn't the case and I believe they'll be quite busy manufacturing them in the next few weeks.

If you can't afford it or you think it's too much money, that's fine, but it's not Busse's fault, it's yours.

I'd like to own a Ferrari and a mansion in the mountains of Colorado, but it's not in the cards now nor will it probably ever be, but I'm not pissed at those who can afford it.
BTW, I didn't order a satin one, too much money, but I have a CG orange/black coming from a very cool Hog who did a trade with me!

Seriously? Step away from the kool-aid , the CG Gladius is less than $200 dollar difference from Blade to Ganzaaa.

The satin is $900 difference from Blade to Ganza :)

I have the cash, I`m just not into getting raped for it.

Fools gold........

Funny thing is, you would not be complaining and would have a satin Gladius on order if you hadn't found out about the Blade show discount.

Why is that? Because you saw the value in the Gladius for what it was which is that it was, and continues to be, worth it.

It's just like any promotion that is done by everybody in sales from homes to cars to underwear at Walmart. Sometimes things go on sale and if you buy it during the sale good for you. If you missed the sale and have to buy it at regular price you're not screwed, you just didn't get as good of a deal as somebody else. At least that's the way I see it, maybe you live life differently.:)

I agree...I was getting pics together to post where the $300 tag is.....

NO TIME FOR THAT:)

Now I am ....well......fill in the blanks

Sorry Amy, by the way, thanks for the super secret e-mail telling me where to find the tag. The Coors and Clark bars are in the mail. :D;)
