I've been having a tough time getting back in the shop this year. I'm slowly turning over some projects, but not quick enough for my liking. On top of that, I think my rotator cuff is junk. I shudder to think what my doctor will recommend, but to be honest, the pain is almost unbearable at times. It sucks to get older and fall apart...

Anyway, here is a project I recently finished. The owner of this Kabar wanted the covers replaced with some amber stag. The existing covers were broken/cracked, IIRC. I cleaned it up a bit, but not too much, re-pinned the shield, and retipped the main blade. I really like how this turned out, I was sad to see it leave...

Sorry to hear of the health issues you've been having. I think you did an outstanding job on that old Ka-Bar!

Great job as usual Glenn. Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I can relate as both my shoulders have issues. Lidocaine cream or patches can work for some relief.

Take care !

Mr. glennbad glennbad ,

Really sorry to hear about your shoulder problem. I did have a stint with shoulder problems a long ago...I'm not a doctor 🤣, but as a suggestion, physical therapy did wonders for me...it made the pain go away and strengthened it in the long run to be free of issues for years...it took few weeks of therapy for pain to start subsiding and about six weeks to bearable almost no pain, and then continued the exercises at home for another three months or so...just an option...I suppose it's not for everyone...

Regardless, wish you a full recovery soon and wonderful work as always!

Awesome work Glenn, beautiful job on that old KaBar my friend. Oh boy do I know what your talking about with Rotor Cuff Pain.

The suggestion of therapy is a good one, I have managed to control things with the exercises for rotor cuffs- do pay off! start of real slow though my friend!

Amazing work, Glenn. That Amber stag is really nice and rich.

Sorry to hear about your rotator cuff. I’ve dealt with chronic pain for a while in my lower back and know how frustrating it can be. Hope you find the right treatment.

I appreciate the concern, everyone. My arm hasn't fallen off yet, so I'm still in action...

Here's another recent finish, although selfishly, I did this one for myself. I had picked up this little Schrade Cut Co dogleg. I had some uninspiring cell covers that were starting to go. I chose some stag and a new shield, and came up with this. Pen blade is decently used, but both blades have crisp half stops and snap. Still a lot of life left in it...

Been trying to get one of these finished up for some time now. I had a couple of these in the works. Thanks to a parts drop by Eric ea42 ea42 , I finally got one of these done.

Wow!! I use a rough ryder marlin spike whenever I go out on my canoe which I cartop on my SUV's roof rack with rope. Inexpensive and gets the job done. The spike really saves your fingers undoing those knots! But, I really like the design of the Schrade over most other companies. From what I've seen, Schrade has what essentially would be considered a sunken joint on the marlin spike. In contrast, Camillus, Case, and Rough Ryders have a joint on the marlin spike that is quite proud. This Schrade turned out fantastic!

Here's one I recently got back. So happy with the results!! The original cell covers were outgassing. New covers are gbone. Even got the bolsters threaded while the work was being done. Looking fresh and clean! This knife, my only Irish Jack, will now last a lifetime!
