Glenn, what knife did those handles come from? Its not Peach-seed and I love the work gone into that jigging.I saved this one from some outgassing celluloid. It's pretty clean, so deserved a second chance. I used some old jigged bone scales I had on hand

I had bought some old sets of jigged bone off of a woman who's dad had a bunch of old knife making parts. Whether he did repair work, or had bought if off someone, I can't remember. I think that bone was from old automatics maybe. Remington or Boker, I can't remember, but it was interesting stuff,, and I wish I had been able to buy more.Glenn, what knife did those handles come from? I've been having a tough time getting back in the shop this year. I'm slowly turning over some projects, but not quick enough for my liking. On top of that, I think my rotator cuff is junk. I shudder to think what my doctor will recommend, but to be honest, the pain is almost unbearable at times. It sucks to get older and fall apart...
Anyway, here is a project I recently finished. The owner of this Kabar wanted the covers replaced with some amber stag. The existing covers were broken/cracked, IIRC. I cleaned it up a bit, but not too much, re-pinned the shield, and retipped the main blade. I really like how this turned out, I was sad to see it leave...

Landscaping and cinder blocks will do that.![]()
Been able to get some shop time lately, and get some projects done or underway.
This one was a bit of a jalopy...rusty, loose, and jacked up wood covers. The customer had this knife from his dad, and wanted to make it usable. We decided on some stag. We agreed that we didn't want to do too much to the knife, just get rid of the rust and make it useful again.
Here's a before pic...
