Unrealistic, maybe, but still spectacular.
Nice one, BMC. The Crooked River has been on my list since it came out. I've already bought one, but it was a gift for my son who carries and uses his a lot.
I found this awesome picture.

Thanks for sharing this! Now I see where cold steel gets inspiration for some of their blade shapes. The arburese looks just like an Espada!
The arburese actually looks very similar to the knife that I believe inspired the Espada. The Espada is actually based on the Spanish Navaja folding knife. Some of them were quite large, hence the Espada XL.
well, actually the word Espada in my country means "Sword", literally. Dagger is "Daga" and double edged knife (of small size and usually designed for concealed carry) is "Puñal". The classic navaja shape is similar to the one used in the Cold Steel Espada folder, but not far from the classic Italian stiletto shape and other ones like the Resolza (Extrema Ratio) or the Fiorentino

These are my two classic navajas made in my country in 1890, compared to my CS Ti-Lite Stiletto
They were of all sizes and shapes, and usually had a ratcheting mechanism with a characteristic opening sound. The classic "clipped" point of the so-called Bowie blade shape is similar to the navajas made in Albacete (the highest quality, most famous ones), and that's pretty close to the Bowie-ish blade shape of the CS Espada.
So, all in all, the Espada is a very nice reinterpretation of the classic Spanish navajas

Awesome.Speaking of Navajas - here is one resting on a 14" dia. Basque beret. This is a large pizza knife
Very excellent hat too. Beautifully made by the Boinas Elósegui a small 150+ year old family company in the Basque region of Spain.
All this posted by a French Canadian "Mainah", born and bred.
Cheers, Ray
