I remember old Stanley. He used to own a whole bunch of woodland & swamp between Ft Loudon & Fannetsburg off PA75. As far as I know the only person he allowed to hunt there was my father-in-law. The last time I was by there it was all housing development.

I guess I should explain. Stanley Hawbaker was a legendary trapper & became world famous by selling his trapping lures. You couldn't pick up any outdoor magazine back in the 1950s & 60s without seeing his adds.

Here's a couple workhorses made by Queen 40 years ago. These were gifted to me when I turned 12 in 1982 and they've field dressed more rabbits, grouse, pheasants, and deer in the hills surrounding Titusville than I care to share. Not quite as pretty as the other knives in this thread.

I also played baseball for a team sponsored by Queen at about this time. I'll have to look for some photos of that:cool::thumbsup:

Titusville was a great place to grow up in the 70s and 80s. The Cyclops steel mill located where GEC is now was still running (although I think it was slowing down), there were a number of refineries around, and of course there was Queen Cutlery. My family's home was located right next to the south course of Cross Creek Resort. My brothers and I used to sneak on and play a few holes in the summertime - until the rangers would chase us off. We also used to ride snowmobiles on the course in the winter. In those days when you had a Queen Cutlery knife you knew you had something special.

At any rate I'm enjoying this thread.
