Been carrying in pocket without a clip on smaller folders for a bit now vs. clipping to my pocket. I'm digging it so far. What are you guys carrying clipless?

I don't carry clip less, but if I did I would probably carry a Small CRK 21 or a Strider PT

Spyderco Delica, Byrd Robin, and Cold Steel Tuff Lite.

Generally most lightweight knives with a blade length of <3".

Small lightweight folders like my Kershaw OD2 and Spyderco Dragonfly have had their clips removed.

Skylines, Delicas, Salts, Natives have been known to get tossed in a pocket without being bothered to be clipped.

My primary folder will always be carried with a clip. Unless I'm in a location that requires very small knives, I'll carry a larger knife and use the clip. I sometimes carry a smaller secondary knife without using the clip. Today I'm carrying a Cruwear Military and a VG-10 Dragonfly.

My Wife sews in a knife pocket in all my jeans and dress pants. As a result most are carried clip-less,works great!

Orange Svord Peasant. I like that I can use the extended tang to do an easy one hand open and close, but I paradoxically resent the extended tang a bit when it's actually in my pocket.

I've been into traditional knives lately. The large one likes to hang out in my back pocket, and the smaller ones I'll stick in my coin pocket.

I usually don't clip carry but keep my clips attached because they are such a leverage aid for me when opening and even closing a blade, especially on 'thinner' knives. I use slipcases mostly, clip and all---more comfortable and keeps the knife nicer. I don't worry about the 1/2 second I'd lose in tactical draw to the red-eyed threat because I'll be at least that far ahead when I run away.

The exceptions are my Emersons because they*hold so securely and for use of the wave feature. Now and then I'll carry one clipped.

If I were going to carry with clip detached, it would have to be on the thicker side for ease of handling/opening. My first choice for deep pocket only carry would be my Micro Commander, IMO one of the perfect EDC's. Next, probably my old Benchmade Panther because of its porpoise shape. My CS Ti-Lite would work well clipless too.

wow, those are nice. Who makes those? I could not read the print on the tang.

I definitely would take that larger one at the top. But knowing Blues' tastes I bet those are a bit too rich for my wallet... ah well. Window wishing is nice.

Thanks guys! Yes, Brancron is correct, they're all made by Jim Dunlap. Top one is a Back-Pocket trapper, bottom two he calls Shadow's. Jim's work ranges from $250-$500+ depending on what you get, well worth it IMO:)

Blues, you're showing some very nice knives...as usual.
As far as clips, the only knife I ever lost was clip-less in my pocket. I would carry a nice traditional in a leather slip-case (perhaps KSF), but not loose.

I carry my large CF Insingo in a CRK leather pocket slip. I carry it most days, and on those days where it's been kicked out of my pocket by something else, it's in my day bag.

I take the clip off all of my knives. I hate clips. Larger knives I carry in back pocket (my 710 sits perfect at a slight angle in my back right).

Although I don't take clips off my folders, sometimes I just kept them in the pocket for discretion... Currently has an Emerson Combat Fighter lurking in the abyss of my pocket...

It's funny, I don't think that CRK is huge, but next to that traditional there it looks massive. Ah, perspective ;)

Reminds me of my uncle. If I'm carrying anything larger than a Buck 301, he assumes I must be going big game hunting. And he's this tall 6'6" guy who usually carries a little 3 blade traditional. ;)
