Xinel, I think the big issue with Chow's first post is that he basically stuck his nose in more or less of a family issue. The Cantina has seen its share of growing pains since the passing of Bill...not to mention the creation and thus double moderation of the sub-forum. What Chow refered to as "too many cheifs" was the fact that we had FOUR mods here (Yangdu, Yvsa, Howard, Munk) at a time of change.
The fact of the matter is that we did not have "too many chiefs", what we had was a collection of what we thought were the best cross-section of souls that the Cantina had to help us all move along, morn the passing of Bill and Rusty, and yet still hold onto what Bill had built as well as his dream of what this place could be. I think everyone who has been and is still a Mod is doing the best that they can. It's not an easy job. I mod a much smaller group of folks on a different kind of forum, and it's not easy. Things change, people change, Mods change. At times, things get a little over-blown, but as a whole we tend to stick together and get through it.
Chow is simply one of people that comes up to you and states, "You know what your problem is...". Now, this may or may not be intentional or trolling behavior. However, it is annoying. I mean the thread was pretty quiet for a week, healing or at least reaching some sort of understanding, then Chow picked the scab.

That's how I took it anyway.

There was no insincerity in my reply. I've talked with many folks that have read the forum for years before posting. Everyone is welcome.
 
I for one, bought khuks and read the forum for two years before making a single post... The Cantinistas have made me feel welcome despite our occasional divergent views.

Shadow - *I* didn't pick the name. A group of men I respect highly decided it was appropriate for me. I think I will continue to do my job as I see it. If your opinion is desired, trust me...I'll ask you for it. There's always a good time to step away from the keyboard, this is your time.

This was not a good thread...but I thought it was settled.

It is now.
 
If any of you have a problem with this site, I encourage you to bring it up. However, I'd ask that you do this in the Service & Support forum, where I can see it and address it in a timely manner.

The moderators, as previously stated, have a tough and largely thankless job. If you don't like a decision they make, I want you to think about what you would have done in their position, or how you would have handled it. Or even if you'd put up with similar behavior in the first place.

The Cantina is here for you guys to pal around and chit chat. It's not to be a catch-all for every topic known to man. We have a dedicated political forum, and forums for a lot of other topics as well.

What I ask is that you work with us and not against us. I have no problem with constructive criticism, but the key word is constructive.
