You guys are getting too good. . . and too close!!!!

Ft. Payne, Alabama it is. . . but what’s next? How about your next clue?

Here it is!

***** Could there be gold in them thar hills????? Ask Silva, he couldn’t find any, but then he was looking long before the “payload” was buried there. He did smell lemons. . . .but why? There are no lemons there. . .. hmmmmm. . . . .

He did see the king and queen in the garden. . . .where else would they be? Boy, those royals wonder who they are! The queen was wearing that huge floppy white hat with the yellow on it . . . again. ******

Good luck gang!

Jerry

Can we say DeSoto State Park?:D

Silva was one of DeSoto's Lieutenants

Ask Silva, he couldn’t find any, but then he was looking long before the “payload” was buried there. He did smell lemons. . . .but why? There are no lemons there

yes a lieutenant with de soto and also
silva was a. p. silva, a miner
smell lemons... he mined limonite (hydrated iron oxide)
a mineral mined near the park

Fort Payne ALABAMA!!! Thats where I am from! NAHH I'm just messin with you guys LMAO!But maybe someone who likes Busse's is from near there!

Yowza!

Nice job gang!!!! It is De Soto State Park in Ft. Payne, Alabama!!!!

There are quite a few clues remaining in the above message. Since we are this close to the actual location I will now accept private emails only.

You must not only supply the answer, but must explain how the clues led you to your answer. That should eliminate any random guessing. If you only supply the answer you will be told that the answer is incorrect.

You will only receive one-word answers to your emails. “Yes”, “No”, or “Partly”.

That’s all. . . .no explanations.

Once someone has come up with the correct answer to the above clues, I will post the final clues publicly. These final clues, when solved, will lead to the exact spot of the “payload”. . . . .Sadly, you will need to go to De Soto State Park in order for them to make sense.

If you solve the clues and want to post the answers publicly. . . . .you are more than welcome to do so.

Good luck gang!!!!

Jerry

jerry, i hope you have a nice sleep tonight, now that you totally screwed up my mind and my well deserved peaceful sleep.
s#*t, i now know more about alabama than the stinking governor. desoto might as well be my dad!
white floppy hat my a$$!

now where did i put my plane ticket.....

Idaho, there is only 8 miles of trails in the park. I'm thinking of just going for it, I can't get the second part of the last clue:(

i can't get it either, sober or drunk

8 miles
2 sides of the trail
2 people
2 shovels
2 miles per hour looking
16 hours and the knives are ours

i'll make my wife carry the beer cooler and no cut for her

you seem to be the closest, you go for it and take your laptop, i will send you the clues as they become available.

quick! ride like the wind and my the force be with you! you are the only hope we have!!

i though a desoto was a car made back when jerry was born?

hey! if it's not on the trail we can drive around, drink beer and and just look for it! too cool got any good cd's raden?

ok... i got to go to bed now, it's the witching hour in idaho.

i still like the idea of driving around in the desoto...

:grumpy:

The park isn't all that big. The pic looks like the trails around here. I was at desoto park a few years back, now I can't remember a thing about it. I think the beer was a bad idea, we tend to drink alittle much when camping.

Hummm....a 2 hour drive...what to do:rolleyes:

Owen....where do you get 21 I have a map of the place and it shows only 8 miles of trails.

http://www.al.com/parks/north.html

"Activities at Desoto Park include picnicking, non-motorized boating, fishing, tennis, swimming, and nature programs. Hikers have 21 miles of trails to choose from: some difficult, some merely strolls through the woods."

I wish I could find a good map of the park, or a guide...

Dang-it!! Can't send Jerry an e-mail, guess I let my "premium" membership lapse so I can't send a PM. Guess I'll just load up the kids Friday and head up to DeSoto for a final weekend of camping before school!
Stay Safe,
Clyde

Hey!!!!

You guys are starting to annoy me. . . . You're cutting into my 10-15 year burial plan by about 10-15 years!!!!!!

Punks! Thieves! Code-crackin', rotten, low down, scum lovin'. . . . . .sorry about that. . . I kind of wandered off there for a minute. . . . ;)

May you get lost at De Soto in a nuclear way!!!

Do you think I would simply put it along a trail where ANYONE could find it????

I mock you. . . I laugh in and about your face. . . You're all so close. . . and yet so far. . .. .

WHY did I post the burial rock picture?. . .What is wrong with me????

Okay, I need some CBL. .. those flugin' voices in my head are starting to get TOO loud!!!!

Wait a minute! I could drive down there and move it before anyone has a chance to get there. . . .I'm in the car . .. . I am outta here. . .. It's only a 30 hour round trip by car. . . .Where's my Mountain Dew??? I'm gonna need some caffeine!!!!

Wait 'til you read the final clue!!!!! You'll be lost for months!!!!!!! (I hope)

Yours in nuclear searches,

Jerry
