Good Job!!!!! Here's your next clue!

Let's see, the plane lands in 30 minutes. 1/2hour at the rental car counter. All out of DeSotos unfortunately. And I figure I'll be there an hour later with metal detector in hand.

Just Kidding :D You guys are cracking me up though.

Come on Jerry! You've got to let us West Coasters have a little fun next. I'm thinking Vegas ;). SHOT was only 6 months ago and you had plenty of time hide one around here. I figure you stumbled out of your hotel late one night and just burried it under the planter boxes in front of Caeser's:p! Huh, am I right? I am right! aren't I!

Got to go dig the shovel out of the garage and hed down to the strip.

Man, this is great Alabama isn't that far for me! :D:D

However, there has to be something planted in KY or TN. What do you say Jerry ? :D:D

OK... Jerry said we are getting there, but not quite. He also ref'd the original picture again.
That branch on the rock got there somehow after Jerry did his work and before the picture was taken. So we might need to take the map of trails and find a match (or close match) between the branch and a section of trail. This might put us in the general area. There must also be another clue (maybe the X or some other) that would mark exactly where it is.

Or maybe I'm heading down the wrong trail.

Redhook. . . .Can you say "Red Rock Canyon" ??? Angry cactus, wild burrows, Snakes, no water, knives buried there in 1982!!!!

Also, for you Californians, , , ever heard of Cucamonga Wilderness outside of Upland, CA????? Knives buried there in 1980-1982!!!!!!

Don't stand there. . . start digging!!!!

Wish I could find that map!!!!!

Cucamonga is a veritable treasure chest of old blades. . . . . . Pretty country too.

Near a waterfall and a HUGE flat topped rock off of an old logging road. . .. I think. . . .. . There are still pistachio shells on top of that rock from 20 years ago. . . (at least there were 4 years ago when I tried to find those old blades. . . .The area was so overgrown that nothing looked like it did during the drought of '82.

Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, PPLLLLLEEEEAAAAASEEEEE

I wish I was there, I was suppose to work today and found out 10 min ago I don't have to go in. Maybe tomorrow:)

Alright Jerry, toss me some crumbs about the "Dublin" area....

Gotta help a Homey...

maybe everybody west of denver should go together and rent a motorhome, grab some cbl and go get the damned thing! i don't think a desoto would hold us all? whoever is closest to the pacific swing through idaho and pick me up.

might have to get some whiskey, i don't think they sell carling out here?

Jerry,

So that's it huh!?! "Go my son and seek the Red Rock Canyon?" Anything else? All I need now is "Oh, it's under the second rock right next to a cactus that grew in the sand. You know the one.";)

And you lost the map? Doh! You realize that you are a good 5 years past your 10-15year time limit. Tisk, Tisk! :D

I know... do you remember which yard you rented the Back Hoe or purchased the dynamite from. Maybe we can ask them. You certainly didn't dig a hole for that thing. The ground is rock solid about 6" under the surface. I think they call it caliche (sp?). That is unless it's a shallow grave.:(

Okay, I'm stoked now!! This is a hoot and just way toooo much fun!!! Must concentrate on work...must not be distracted...must not be distracted...
Stay Safe,
Clyde

Clyde,

Georgia huh? Wait 'til you see what I have for you in Georgia! Hahahahahaha!. . . of course, you really aren't that far from De Soto Park either

Sharpen your shovel!!!!

Let's not forget the Land of Lincoln Jerry;)

...or even north of here in the Dairy State:D

Strabs,

I'm trying to find a location that is dead center between you and OneWhoBuys. . . Actually, I'd better bury it closer to you. . . Chuck has way too much access to heavy land moving equipment. . . . . ;)

Looking back at the clues the flowers may have been just a lead to the park. Idahoskunk had pointed out a couple of clues that can be viewed a little differently. Silva, Liminite, and the x on the rock.
Should we be considering the rock quarry area?
