Good serrated folder for hard use?

so I'm in landscaping and lately we've been planting trees and transplanting trees so basically I'm dealing with a lot of burlap and ropes and cords and today I was struggling using my paramilitary 2 plain edge. I have never really looked into serrations. But I think having one knife dedicated to serrations would be good.

I'm not interested in partial serrated blades. I was thinking about a fully serrated tenacious, but I've never handled one. I'm not sure how their serrations are. I've heard people praise CRKT's veff serrations, however I feel they're overpriced for the quality of materials and the fit and finish. I was mainly looking at spyderco, thinking about the tenacious, the wharncliffe delica, but I really don't know where to start. Anyone know of a serrated knife that's tried and true?

-Can't be over 4"
-H1 or a semi rust proof steel is a plus
-$100 or less preferably
-Easy one handed opening with gloves on

Spyderco Salt 1...Doesn't have to work hard, because the blades razor sharp. Works great on boat rope. My Salt 1 is extremely solid. No steel liners (rust proof), but nice thick sturdy FRN handles, no blade play. All I could ask for in a hard use, serrated FOLDER (used as a cutting/slicing tool). Its all about the serrations and Spyderco has it. Will be great for landscaping when you have grit and wet grass stuck in the knife all day. No worries with rust even if you don't clean and dry it for a week. The yellow versions great! Its hard to lose in a natural environment........unless your working around sunflowers

The Spyderco serrations have worked the best for me. I feel Spyderco obtains the perfect ( for me) balance of cutting feed back with their serrated edges.

I'll let Peacent tell you.

Terrific contribution:rolleyes:

I would recommend anything from Spyderco. Even though the Matriarch is designed as a SD knife, I carried one as a work knife and those suckers will cut through anything with ease. Any other fully-serrated knives will work like "pocket chainsaws" (@palonej):D even the recomended Salt series:thumbsup:

They can be tough to track down now, but the Spyderhawk Salt in H1 is probably my favorite serrated knife.

Another vote for the Spyderco TUFF in 3V. Never have seen anything like it...great folder.

Pacific Salt SE great, and another is the Tasman SE. The Tasman's tip is finer/less sturdy than the Pacific's, but if doing a lot of pulling cuts may be a good choice, too.

OP wants serrated, rust proof, and under $100.
The Tuff, although agreed, is a great knife, but misses most of the requirements.

The Tasman Salt is my favorite for your described tasks. The serrated hawk bill is great for gardening and such.
