Just my $0.02 worth regarding warranties.
A lifetime no-quibble warranty is no guarantee your knife won't break. All it guarantees is you'll get a replacement.
It's like when precision parts get outsourced to more eastern countries, occasionally you get a box of 200 rather than the 100 you ordered. When you ask why they sent double the reply is "Because we knew you specified +/- 3 microns, we cannot guarantee that precision so we sent double on the basis that half of them will be right. If you need any more we'll be happy to supply".
If I was making Mora's and selling them at Fallkniven prices, I'd offer no-quibble warranty as well. The increased volume from the punters and the fact that most of my customer base aren't likely to ever put the knife through its paces means I gain anyway. Even if I replace the knife 10 times, I'm still ahead because that customer will tell his friends about the really great warranty and they'll buy one too.
Toyota has some cars where you can't access the engine without completely stripping the bodywork. They have a little bay for checking and topping up oil & water, that's it. When asked why they did this, "isn't it a bit short-sighted?" The reply was "Our engines never go wrong". This philosophy is also the reason why you sometimes have to wait 3 months for certain spare parts to come from Japan, because they "never break".
Different manufacturers have different philosophies, and sometimes you don't know the reasons behind certain decisions. If you could buy a car where every part could be changed without lying underneath the car, would you think, "clever engineering they really care about the people who have to work on it"? Or would you think " They expect everything to fail on this car and want to minimise the time spent in the garage by making it all really easy to replace"?
Without insight into those decisions, we'll never know for sure.
Mora makes great knives, but to cover a full range of bushcraft tasks including a lot of battoning I wouldn't like to rely taking just one with me. I'd be happy with my falkie though.
