I have seen failures from all major makers. My opinion is that you should be able to batton with a knife.

My bet is Fallkniven will replace it. Then you can sell it, continue to use it or whatever.

This thread just goes to show it is good to test your gear before it is put to the test.

U raise 5 points. I agree to all of them!!

Just for the record...I am holding the replacement in my hand as we speak.

Hi,
Nice to read that so many want a Fällkniven subforum, but sorry my knowledge in forums and manage forums is very small.
Hope you like your F1im Giorgos, and I hope you don´t sell it.

Just received a new F1 from New Graham Knives!
Well, not me; for political reasons ;-) I am giving it to my wife for her birthday. Oh yeah, and I love her, too, so there's that!

Basically, I decided to buy one of these little workhorses because of what I had read on this thread. If the OP could use it for so long, do all that, and it still took a 'defect' to cause a snap, well, that's a pretty tough little knife.

As to 'little'...I read the specs before I bought it, so I figured I'd know what to expect when I got it, but nope, I was wrong. The F1 is much more beefy than I was expecting, and I can see why the OP wasn't too worried about batoning with it. Man, it looks tough! I might have to 'borrow' it from time-to-time, to, ummm, sharpen or clean it. Yeah, that's it. To clean it.

BTW, went with the leather sheath for a more traditional / woodsy / less tactical look.
