Got a Buck 119 from my dad, from vietnam era?

mb, I din't see that the "r" was missing.
But I don't get the sense of the question.
And --- do I have to understand everything??
I think no.
Best,
Haebbie

Haebbie,
The comment wasn't directed at you, I can see why you would think it was, cause you are in Gremany but it was just a play off of BGs comment on being a Swiss tourist in Vietnam!!!

Ok, I've checked every model, except a few I couldn't find and I have two more with this spacing configuration. A model 105 and another 121 both have the 2&2 micarta spacers in the finger guard and pommel. Joe noted of the Group 3 models he "had only seen the 119, 120, 121 and 118 in this configuration and it is likely that the other models skipped this and went straight to the next version." (these are the 1&2 models) The models we're talking about are the Group 2 models. I think all these have the 2&2 spacers. So, if someone has a 3 line upright stamped 102 or 118 with 4 micarta spacers (2 in the pommel and 2 in the finger guard) please let us know as this is a item of interest. Thanks, DM

DM:

We have been so busy looking at the original 100 series that we have overlooked another member of that series. I'd love to see a 4 spacered 116.

I don't have a 116 from this era mine are older and my daughter has a 1st year date. I think they around in someone's collection. Perhaps one will show up this week. DM

Telechronos, here you go a 105, 118 and a 116 all 2x2... ITE ...

Maybe the info DM got was misunderstood, cause I think we covered every one of the 100 series that fit in the 3 line stamp, tip up with 2 and 2 spacers...

ITE, the spacers on those almost look black they are so dark. nice knives though...

I think that the 106s switched from phenolic handles to micarta slabs in about 1970, so the 1973s definitely had micarta slabs and would not have had spacers.

I much prefer the earlier phenolic 106s.

No, he's wanting pictures of a 119 & 120 with 2&2 spacers. Yes, that is the way they look, very dark maroon. DM

Tele, very nice models and pictures. But the 106 did not follow this pattern as I have the 2 liners and 3 liner and they don't even have that same handle. Mine have pinned micarta and birch wood. Sure all the 2 liner knives had the 2&2 spacers but the spacer material was not maroon micarta. DM

Still haven't seen pics of a 4 spacer 1973 119 or 120.

Tele, here's a picture of a 120 2x2 and a whole set of 2x2s but the 107, 119, 124 is not a 2x2... These knives are I4Bucks... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you ITE for posting the pictures. I am still looking for a 119 2x2 to complete this set. HL

I4Bucks, your welcome... Anytime... Just put that set in my box and in the mail as soon as you can... :D ;) :D

Thanks, ITE ...

Telechronos did the picture of the 120 help you any? You should be able to blow up the picture of the set and see that most of them are read with the blade up, and 2x2 spacers. HL PS I am still looking for the 119 myself.

Yes, thank you. Now it narrows down to a pic of the elusive 119.
