Special thanks to Chase Axin of Chax Knives. Incredible to deal with and he did a great job.

Those are iPhone pics and they don't really do the knife justice but I figured it was better than nothing. Thanks for looking!

Amazing!!! Tell us the who, what, when,& where. :)
Was this an Insigno that was modified, who did it, etc. This is the dream knife for all those who asked for the Spyder hole.
SteelSnob were gonna need better pic's.

This was a whole new blade I had made. I asked for a blade similar to the Insingo but made out of M4 steel and with a opening hole. Chase Axin of Chax Knives did the whole project and I will use a real camera when I get a chance to take some better pictures. Thanks!

Oh yeah, Chase is amazing at modding blades, and does a GREAT carbon fiber scale for just about any folder w/liners.

Sweet, very unique and personalized. The blade hole matches up perfectly with the lock opening like the knife was designed that way. great adaptation.

It's not a true wharncliff.It has a slight belly.

It's surely unique.

:thumbup:Congrats!

Cool idea..
I like the choice of steel and the work looks top notch. I like the thought of Sebenza with a scratched up handle and a nice patina on the blade.

Definitely a modified wharncliffe.

I do not however like the way it looks at all. I'm sure it will be quite the worker though and it's your knife and nobody else but you needs to like it. :)

Thanks for posting the pics...now I want one without the hole. :D

Looks like a wannabe Spyderco with a terrible handle. :foot:

But as long as you like it that's all that matters.

Looks like a better Spyderco with a better handle.
Better blade, better lock, and yes better handle (titanium with inlays.)

It does however now look more Spyderco than Chris Reeve.

Spyderco in general have always been described as terrible looking on their own by a lot of people due to the function over form principles applied to their manufacture.

Your well thought out creation may offend a lot of Spyderco and Chris Reeve fanboys so you will be taking hits from both sides of the fanboy clubs.

The more rational can see this is one winning combination.

Thanks for all the kind words and other comments. He wanted to originaly do a Thumbstud Sebenza replica version originaly but I asked him to try the opening hole and and Wharncliffe blade style and I like the way it turned out. Definitely about function over form on this one.

Now if you could put that blade in an FRN handle, you'd be onto something! Something green maybe. Sal!!!!!!

Not a fanboy of either company and the knife still looks horrid. That's just my opinion though.

The only thing that makes this knife look like a Spyderco is the hole.
