Got my M4 Wharcliffe Sebenza Blade!!! Pics included!

I've always said if Reeve makes a Seb with a Spyderhole it would be my grail knife.

It's far from perfection, but it's a start Steelsnob, thanks for trying.

Now you got my mind wondering around with a bunch of different profiles
and I don't even own a sebbie, lol.

It's hideous, let me get that out of the way first. But I'm sure it's a workhorse and will be a dream performance wise.
IMO, if Chris Reeve would just offer the standard blade in M4, I'd be a lot more interested.

Certainly unique. Bit of a frankenstein creation, too ugly for me to love, and this is coming from a Spydie fan. Maybe if you sent it out for me to hold...;)

Ugly like charlie's "mods" but I can seeing this one being a good worker. Not something id go for, but each to their own. Interesting for sure anyways

half of me loves it for its functionality, but the other half makes me wanna throw up in my mouth. haha i think the blade just looks too big for the handle is all. they did an excellent job though and i'm sure its a helllllll of a cutting tool

Looks like a better Spyderco with a better handle.
Better blade, better lock, and yes better handle (titanium with inlays.)

It does however now look more Spyderco than Chris Reeve.

Spyderco in general have always been described as terrible looking on their own by a lot of people due to the function over form principles applied to their manufacture.

Your well thought out creation may offend a lot of Spyderco and Chris Reeve fanboys so you will be taking hits from both sides of the fanboy clubs.

The more rational can see this is one winning combination.

Definitely a spyderco fanboy and a recent CRK fanboy.

I approve!

Does look a bit top heavy. Is it?
very cool idea to mix my 2 favorite knife brands :D

I'm also a Spyderco/CRK fan and that was part of what inspired me to ask him to do this. I think if I would have let him do the replica it might have been very pretty but still the same blade with just a different steel. Personally I don't find it anymore ugly than the Spydercos or Jen Ansos I have seen.

I will weigh it when I get back in town I had to leave abruptly after posting pics. It didn't feel that heavy though.

It made me :barf: but it does look quite functional. I don't particularly think much of the Sebenza ergos, so I probably would have chosen a different handle to swap into. Then again I guess there aren't a whole lot of knives that sturdy enough to handle a big ole blade like that.

I love this mod. It changes the two things I don't like about the regular sebenza. The opening hole is one. The much higher performing steel is the other. I'm one that still believes the S30V at low RC's ( RC 58-59) is a step down from the older BG42 blades. The CPM M4 is a step up performance wise from that even, except corrosion resistance which I place little value in. I've gonnen along with carbon & alloy steels very well. Grew up with them, in fact, so stainless steels aren't at all necessessary to me.

As far as the looks? As long as it's not painted pink I'm fine with it.

Very nice mod. A large improvement to my way of looking at it.

I'm a fan! It has the funky look that I dig.....kind of like the Spyderco Captain! Enjoy:thumbup:
