As the title teased...

Are you KEEPING a blade you're 99.97% sure that you'll NEVER USE to cut stuff?

Seems perplexing & wrong, doesn't it? o_O

After all, knives are utilitarian things...

Some say the true spirit of the blade is only fully revealed when it's used to dissect matter.

If that's true for all knives, then it's especially true for BUSSEs!!! :thumbsup::cool:

Yet, perchance there comes into your porky porcine possession, that one BUSSE, that you KNOW that no matter how hard you try to rationalize and convince yourself-- you'll <very> likely NEVER USE.

But even more significantly-- you know you'll never toss her back into the trough, either.

I've stripped, modded, and beat the hog snot out of more expensive and rare BUSSEs than this one, but she's found a place in my heart that she's gonna escape <?> that fate somehow:

Yes, Battle Mistress - Ergo, original series. The spine has been ground even with the handles, and the spine from tip to choil has been double cut. Reminds me of the frosted edge of a car window. :)

Always looking for the next great blade and every contender has a shot at the title. But pretty soon I realize most are just pretenders <to my tastes> and I throw em back in the trough realizing I'll never use em.

With this BM-e I had full intent on etching, striping, beating, and then beating her some more.

However this one struck me differently right off.

And as I said, strange thing came over me when I opened the parcel, I had this feeling I couldn't use this one and yet I'd never give her up.

Never felt that before with any blade before-- it's contradictory to my practical side, and a little unsettling on that same level.

Well my Silent Knight is one sweet piece of Midnight Blue and Bruiser, I am probably going to keep it that way for now. My Battle grade Mofo is also a favorite Knife that hasn't been tested yet. It is mint and in Tanker grey, matches my TGLB perfectly, which I have abused, so I use that one heavily. The thing is I don't want to sell any of my Busses and only sold the BB13 because I was in a jam and didn't want to miss out on that Silent Knight when it started dinging.

I've kept a piglet's share of BUSSEs myself...

BUT, all of those

I've used/will use in the future/currently use/modded
-OR-
will throw back into the trough

I acknowledge it is a first world problem, but I'm practical to a fault and it's problematic to me that I can't bring myself to use this one NOR sell her.
 
Not yet- only one close so far would be the Snow Hole only because I also have a CG to beat on. At this point probably the nuke V8 to some extent, but I've made a commitment every new one goes in the ashhole stump, just get it over with and put some marks on it. But honestly, most of mine will never see a whole lot of anything besides eyeballs and fingers occasional modeling gigs :cool::thumbsup: Already have an Elf concept in mind too LOL!
 
So far my SK hasn't cut anything but paper. But in the future probably the Forsaken Mistress, HOG gemini, and V14..... but thats why you order two.;)
 
Bussekin that I have and will never use? Most of them. One of those “collector fellows.” But don’t worry, I have plenty of users in every size range. And Andy. I recently acquired an ASH1 that won’t soon be making its way to your Southern Hemisphere. SH/ASH1 number fourteen. Apologies. I really should be less competitive, and cheeky. Be well all.
 
Nothing wrong with collecting, IMHO. :)

However I avoid buying knives I know have 0% percent chance I'll ever use-- I truly don't mean this as an indictment of anyone who routinely buys knowing the opposite...

but rather...

I've been bewitched with this BM-e and it has me reassessing my priorities. Just wondering if anyone else out there's been spellbound similarly. That is, bought one to use but couldn't bring yourself to do the deed. :eek::oops:
 
Good to hear from you Andy. That Skinny Moss Green. Don’t have one in that blade color. Did not need the accompanying leather sheath, and the seller was kind enough to sell me the ASH1 separately and cheaper.

And twenty? I have some catching up. But in all fairness, I do get sidetracked occasionally with Sebenza’s; Umnum’s; and my recently discovered Shirogorov passion. Aye, carumba! And no offense taken, Petey. Plenty of blades for us all. Like my BMe as well. Be well. Steve

First time i picked up a satin Busse from knifehunter i swore i would never have impure thoughts about using her... didnt last a week, i just cant not use one.. nome sane?
