Got scammed of my DDR knife big time ! No longer stolen !

Your receipt is signed for by Robert Reynolds, but the printed name is Jonakee Reynolds. Pulled some info. PM me, don't feel comfortable doxxing in public.

Update :
Last message from him today and I think I'm done messaging with him.
Looks like his Dad signed for the package.

I found a business in the name of Robert Reynolds in La Madera, NM. Same PO Box to which you sent the knife. There's also a business phone #. If you haven't found it, say so here and I'll get it to you. You need to call dad in the morning and find out what's going on. He signed for the knife - he'd better know.

I have few phone numbers could you send me that one just in case?
Also the knife was insured any way I can claim insurance if the recipient didn't sign for it?

Sent it as a Visitor Message (it's public, but less public than here). I'm not sure about insurance. That's better answered by one of our USPS folks. I'd think that it should be signed for by the addressee, but it appears to be Dad's PO Box, so...

My favorite part of the Mail Fraud statute is: " shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both." And with a federal sentence, there is no time off or parole; you do every day. That could really change your life. But hey, he might like La Tuna. I hear the air is nice and dry.

OK. No parole after 1997 but possible time off - up to 54 days per year served. And who does this help?

I would guess only the one serving the sentence. And it only works out to 47 actual days off per year.

But if you're going to post all this legalese Thomas, I'd be sure it was correct beforehand. Just saying...

Don't get me wrong. I hate thieves. And it appears this guy is a thief with what we have so far, and deserves whatever the law dictates.

I'd say it's time to stop dealing with the kid and start talking to the man who signed for the package. Who assuming he isn't in on it should not be pleased to know his involvement in this thing as documented by his signature at the post office. If you're lucky maybe he hasn't handed the package over yet.

I.e. I'd call his dad. I'd have done it before all your texts and posturing to him. You're not gonna scare this kid into doing the right thing. Call his dad. Do it now before the kid gets to him and gives him his side of it first. Don't wait for morning.

And getting back to the problem at hand, I agree with the Docs advice above. Call the dad ASAP...

Having read the the whole thread, I am only echoing others with my advice: STOP TEXTING THE KID. All you're doing is giving him information as to your moves. If you want to completely destroy the kid, you need to be coming out of left field and completely broadsiding him with his parents crawling up his rear end all of a sudden. What's to say that the kid wasn't responding like it's no big deal, and then immediately contacting those people to tell them that a crazy stalker from the internet would be contacting them with some BS story about a theft that never happened"?

Worse, what if this guy Robert is in on it, and as big a bag of trash as his kid? That's always possible these days.

I would sincerely and highly recommend not texting or responding to that kid any further whatsoever. Either call this guy Robert, or have Law Enforcement handle it.

What legalese? Legal advice here is worth every penny you pay. And you're wrong - or right, depending on which commentary on the BOP's calculations you read.

54% of time served, not 54% of sentence. A wonder of this age.
