Got scammed of my DDR knife big time ! No longer stolen !

^ $3500 DDR Custom Knife

^ I hope that I'm wrong, but did you purchase only $500 worth of insurance ("$500 item number" printed on your receipt), for the $3500 knife you shipped to this kid?

It doesn't matter if he purchased $10k worth ins. USPS will not pay u the full amount unless u can prove with a receipt of purchase it's a retail item. And prove that the retail item was shipped. Custom, handmade or any other items they will put a price on regardless what its value is. Been there done that on 2 knives value $1400 I insured for $1500 the items were lost in mail never delivered I got $62.50 so did the buyer after 1 1/2 years of calling them. They plainly suck. High end merch needs to be sent ups or fedex with ins. Only way it's a sure thing

My opinion

Meaning no disrespect to social networks

I stick too FORUMS that have a semblance
of values integrity trust

I have heard positive things about social media
transaction

I am truly sorry for this mess...Red flags are to be acknowledged and
trust your gut.

PO BOX Huge Red Flag!!!!!! ((Unless its people you have worked with in the past))

FedEx is not a sure thing. They lost $25,000 worth of mammoth ivory in route to us. Their response was, "Take us to court". The ivory was eventually found. Have you ever had an insurance payout from FedEx?

In the UPS fine print it says they do not provide insurance. You pay more for declaring a a high value package, but you don't get insurance. You can buy insurance for UPS packages, but it is through a third party provider, not UPS. We learned this lesson the hard way.

Private insurance like Collectibles Insurance Services is the most dependable.

Call me a judgemental redneck but what we have here is the photo of a PUNK high on drugs !!!

I don't know about high on drugs but there is no way I would have sent that kid a damn thing for any reason. Sometimes the cover of the book fits...

Two things I would like to say...

First, I have a PO Box. The reason is that I live in an old neighborhood and I have an old, unsecured mail box at the end of my driveway. While the USPS is happy to deliver to the mail box, I have expressly told them "no" because I don't want to give some bored dumbass something to do while truant from school, like steal my mail. As such, the USPS has been instructed to only deliver to my PO Box. I don't like the "Hey, PO Boxes are a red flag" rumor running around in this thread. I have never had a knife sent to me that didn't make it.

Second, anytime a knife is sent to my PO Box and it is insured for more than $200, rather than finding a knife waiting for me in a parcel locker, I find a slip waiting for me in my box. I am then required to stand in line and present that slip to someone at the counter in order to retrieve my package. Additionally, every time this happens-and I do mean without exception--I have been asked to present identification showing that I am not some fellow who just happened to find the postal slip. I have to also electronically sign for the package and write my PO Box electronically as well. Unless the USPS is blowing off their job in Little Town, NM, this same thing should be happening there.

The top photo could be a poster for drug rehab, yes he/she ? is under the influence in that photo.

I couldn't get past the dumb haircut....

More on topic, this situation sucks but there were red flags all over the place. I'd be doing and contacting anybody and everybody who could help. And given the cost involved I would have used registered mail. I've used it once for an item of little value but irreplaceable importance that had to get somewhere by a certain date no matter what. registered is the way to go when nothing can go wrong.

In order to get a P.O. you fill out an application with I.D. verified by the clerk, from there it goes to the carrier and verified again that the applicant does reside there and is getting mail there. I had a P.O. box for many years myself. The Postal Inspectors WILL find and arrest this punk, you can bank it!

Exactly the same for me but I put my physical addy before the PO Box line so everyone is happy. Small town goofyness..

USPS as well as other Carriers are NOT in great standings for insurance reimbursement..

You sometimes don't know who you are sending things to but I would have to agree. A couple irresponsible stupid pos kids is all I see.
Anyway, I wish you all the best. I feel horrible about this :(

Lol,should I be worried.:eek::eek: I get a retired check every !st of the month. In this case the parcel was delivered and not lost, damaged or stolen. This is a criminal case of theft by mail.
When it's their fault you do have to prove with documentation your loss to be made whole. Been there and got my money back myself. It can be a pain.

Not sure why all the bashing on the PO.
Didn't they get the package to where it had to go??
I would also think an ins claim is out of the question. The item was delivered and signed for.
Sorry if I missed something.
Really hoping the OP gets satisfaction with this mess.
Joe
