GPB Sheaths

That Badger was unbelievable. You have to see it to believe it.

I'm hauling the digital for the next time I see him, and will take/post a pic. I could be mid March though...

I'll get a pic of the Advantage sheath up tomorrow night. Fits like the knife was poured in.... I think this one will be a keeper man.

That's because you undoubtedly met him at the 1500. I did not know you knew him Chuck. He's a good friend!

Hey guys! If he told you his department, don't mention it. I know you probably wouldn't but I just wanted to let you know.

Thanks!

Gotta sack....see ya later and thanks for the cudo's for Brian!

It is really interesting to find out where some of my sheaths have been and what they have done! Admittedly there are some stories that cannot be told, and I am just as pleased to have provided gear for those "adventures" as well.

I want to thank everyone posting testimonials on my behalf. I truly had no idea that folks thought so highly of my rigs! Yes, Frank did tell me these units are well liked, but, he is a "Brother" and therefore biased. BTW gang, without Frank's support and encouragement, there would be no Okuden.

Have I mentioned that I'm currently just "sitting around" waiting for work? I've got a limited amount of WOODLAND Kydex, and a rather substantial stockpile of matte black just waiting to be used.

Military and Law Enforcement orders will have unquestioned priority, but I am currently able to turn most orders around in under 2 weeks.

Do you have any Busse's from which to make sheaths from
or do we need to send each knife in per sheath?

Nice looking sheaths; the camo is too cool!

Frank, I spoke with your friend at Indy and saw the Badger Attack. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical about the BA being undamaged until I saw the knife, and you could see where the bullet hit, but the knife suffered no damage other than to the coating. I asked if he was wearing body armor, and he said he was, but I’m sure that 5/16" slab of steel helped a lot to spread out the energy of the bullet. An amazing story!

Bravado,

Thanks for asking!

At present I do need folks to send me their blades for sheaths. I do intend to accumulate some knives, but at present, I need more capital to do so.

There is also the question of which ones to buy. I would appriciate input from all forumites on this subject (please include our "rodent bretheren"), but please understand that even as the true INFI HOGS can't own one of everything, I merely need to acquire the most popular models. (MS, BA-E, SH-E, BM-E, AD[?])

Just think folks, I have the PERFECT reason to "go nuts"!

Be advised that while your wayward "children" are at "Camp Okuden", they will reside in a large safe, and will be handled over wood or other padded surfaces. You should also know that I hate being responsible for other people's expensive gear. Therefore, every effort is made to return said gear with "new clothes" as soon as possible.

Oku,

I am looking to house my Project 1 in a new outfit and I do mean very quickly. I am at Ft Lewis and due out in the next 7-14 days. I would love to hook up with you to buy an outfit for my P1.
I have duty this evening but will be off after 0700 I have a card I picked up at Tactical Tailors when I got my "Assault Pack" and will be contacting you tomorrow.
I like what I see here and know you will do my Project justice.
Talk to you soon.

Frank,
I also saw the BA and heard the story, truly an amazing piece of Steel. However, I think you are wrong about 1 thing, I think it was only 1/4" not 5/16" :p

Done and Done :D:D

I've added you to the contact list if anyone contacts me for aftermarket sheaths for their Rats. :D:D

Frank must be psychic, posting this when I've got a Busse on the way soon. I was just thinking about these rigs, and wondering if I could get one made:cool:

Eric , maybe you could clarify, is this knife INFI or A2 and is it SH-BA or BA-E? I'd really like to see a pic of this knife.

Here is a link to a thread where Rob Simmonich shot a S30V blade broad side with a .45 Hydra-Shok and that blade shattered! There are good pics in that thread of the result. http://www.usualsuspect.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10755&highlight=shot+and+S30V

I wish I had my camera, maybe next show one of us can get a pic.

It was a straight handle Badger Attack(I believe INFI) and the shot was taken at less than 15'(he estimated probably closer to 12').

Just to repeat what has already been said, the metal wasn't even indented, only the coating was missing(and only where it was hit).
He told me that he thought he'd been shot in the face because the kydex, and other misc pieces flew up and hit him under the chin and goggles causing quite a lot of pain.(I'm sure this is seriously understating it)

:D:D

I`ve owned about 6 of these sheaths from Frank, and all I can say is if you buy one, you will definately be pleased with the quality and workmanship.

Met with Brian today to discuss a sheath for my Project 1. Not only was he very patient with me but he had alot of suggestions which helped me decide on a model.
I am now waiting patiently as he creates a 'uniform' for my girl.
I will post my impressions here once I receive it, but I am sure after talking with Brian and seeing pictures of his work, it will all be positive.
I know for a fact that I will be recommending him to the guys in my unit and when I get back I will probably get 'uniforms' for my other 'kids'. :D

MedOps..Welcome to the forum.
Glad things are working out.
Keep your head down and when you get back let us know how the kydex and the Busse held up under pressure.

JOHN!!!!!! (Stomper) It is very good to hear from you my friend!

Okay, I guess the rest of the story needs to be told.

Eric, I would bet you a steak dinner it is a 5/16":p

The blade originally went to a friend who is a Captain at one of our County departments. This Captain is also an Adjunct Instructor from Gunsite. I told him I did not have any 1/4" available at the time.

Later, our FIQ (friend in question) told me he would like to have the 5/16" because as those of you who have met him know, he is big enough to handle it. So, as I recall I retrieved the 5/16" from the Captain and gave it to my friend for his birthday in a brand new Okuden Rig.

I then sold one of my other personal 1/4" back to the Captain. This has been a while ago but I am about 90% certain that was how it went.

If I am wrong it will be a great excuse to take you for a slab-o-beef Eric, but I think I'm on pretty solid ground here.

Regardless, I did not realize how many people he had told by now since the investigation was over. He first told me about three months or so ago.

Brian, I've got some stuff to ship you tomorrow. I'll include a certified check.

One More Thing: I am so confident that you will be impressed with his rigs that the first three forumites who contacted Brian for a bona fide order get it free from me if they don't like it. This means if you like it, you pay for it. If you don't, I will! That includes shipping to and fro.

Frank,
It is possible you are right about it being 5/16" I've been known to make a mistake every once in a while ;):p

If I remember right I owe you a meal anyway ;)

Either way it was quite an impressive story.

BTW, just to keep this thread on the subject of sheaths, I'm sending at least one to Brian next week. Gotta talk it over with him to see exactly what he recommends :D
