Great Eastern Cutlery: #66 - Equal End Serpentine

I wish they'd do a version with an awl instead of the spey blade. It would be like a small, serpentine version of the 98 Texas Cattle Knife, which would be awesome! I'm still probably going to pick one of the current calf ropers, just not sure which (maybe the smooth autumn gold bone).

Does anyone have an example of what GEC's hemlock green bone looks like?

If you google hemlock jigged bone several examples will pop up. I personally love it myself. Almost a darker blood red jigging.

Am I seeing satin bolsters on canvas micarta?

It would be nice. I also wouldn't mind if they had a Turkish clip blade, like the slims.

I'm excited to own a three blade GEC knife. I'm gonna use one example really hard, like I did the #35 BF.

I looked today and couldn't find them. I'm sure there'll be some left over, but I'm glad I reserved one when I could. Smooth autumn gold bone is one of my favorites. Probably only second to plain smooth white bone, that is going to age and yellow over time.

First time poking my head in this thread, so rather than flip page by page, I will just ask.

Does anyone have a side by side photo of a 66 and a:
82 Dixie
81 Abilene

Thanks!

ETA: Found one on page 5, thanks @supratentorial .

Looks like I am still waiting for an 82...

Has anyone dropped the kick down on the sheepsfoot blade with this pattern, or do you really need to do that at all?
On my Case stockman I had to do that so it was more comfortable to hold.

I thought that looked a little odd, but I was talking about the green micarta. GEC confirmed to me on Instagram that the bolsters are matte. They look to have a brushed style finish.

Thanks for the clarification, Colin! I wasn't expecting this and now I'm really stoked! Might even get two instead of one.

The ironwood looks amazing :thumbsup: I like the shield choice as well. :)

The peach seed looks classic imo. Extremely tempting.:rolleyes::confused:

Wow, there are some amazing covers in this run. I am dying to see more progress on the Hemlock Green, I had one on reserve before the color was announced, not usually thrilled with green, but, these look really dark. The OD green look great , love the matte bolsters had one on reserve and switched it to the Jigged bone becasue I didn't like the oval shield, regretting that one. The DIW looks awesome and love the shield and the dark peach seed , i'd have to agree looks classic. Have to control myself.

Really glad they're using different shields . I like the oval quite a bit. The bow tie on the ironwood and dark chestnut look great . Wonder what they put in the hemlock? If it's a clould , I'm safe , this run is too tempting to resist

Right? Taken out of the whole run, I'd probably buy at least 4 of these. Decisions are hard.
