Great Eastern Cutlery: #66 - Equal End Serpentine

Just saw that as well. Im always drawn to the corset shield. Not a fan of the jigging but Im loving the variety in shields. Oval, Corset, Oak leaf so far

Agreed Brett, I don't care for the jigging but the shield is awesome.

I kind of like the jigging, if only because it's something different from their standard Tidioute jigging. And I love the corset shield. I'm trying to limit myself to just one of these, and I thought it was going to be the Ebony, but I may have to go with the Antique Autumn instead.

I'm right there with you on this Barrett. Sometimes it's hard to plan GEC purchases in advance because they don't know what the color is until they build the knife.

I cancelled my reservation for the Tidioute Jigged Bone when I found out about the Blood Red Bone SFO. Now that I know what the color of the Tidioute Jigged Bone is I want both of them. Not that big of a big deal because I can still buy the Tidioute Jigged Bone (Antique Autumn) if they aren't all taken up by reservations. As long as I can snag one somewhere I'll be happy.

I guess it does help keep things interesting.

Apologies if this has been covered, but I've seen conflicting information on dealers' pages - is the #66 3 1/2" or 4" closed?

I'm having a seriously tough time on this run. I want one in stag, oil creek bone is probably going to look awesome, I love the no-etch satin tidioutes, and I think tortoise shell will be really cool on this pattern in particular.

Hmmm...the video and photos of the 66 is making it hard to avoid... If I can snag a Desert Ironwood, I'd be pretty content.

Can't wait. I hesitated between the ebony and jigged bone, went for the latter. Hopefully they'll come across the pond quickly. There's a lot of waiting for me still ...

Sadly I think I managed to misplace my 66 slim in the car today. I checked 4 or 5 times yet I can't find it anywhere, which is strange. My Clio isn't exastly the biggest, so it should turn up again fast, I hope? I'm getting all desparate ...

I'm with you on that Lance. I've got a reservation in for the Northfield Blood Red Bone SFO but I want another one in bone too.

The two Tidioutes I have reserved are Ebony and OD Canvas Micarta. Not sure if I'll spring for the non SFO Northfield Jigged Bone or try to go after the Dark Chestnut SFO. I'll have to wait and see what the Northfield has to offer.

When it's all said and done I'll end up with at least 4 from this run. I hope.
How did you reserve the blood jigged bone? I do see a early reserve option on that dealers website. These are going to look great.

I am not entirely certain whether that dealer who is running the Northfield Blood Red Bone SFO can be mentioned here or not. However if you go to GEC's website and look at their production schedule, you can see who is running that particular SFO and then go to that dealer's website where there is instructions on how to reserve a SFO knife.

I was so happy with the Blood Red Jigged Bone on my #54 that I reserved a #66 in the same. They are going to make for a rather stunning pair, in my opinion.

Looks great Rick! Can't wait to see your other three!

Thanks Lance! We have waited so long for another run of these and it feels so good to finally have one in hand again.

I don't have a pic handy but one thing, among many, that I like about these three blade Calf Ropers is that they have a Spey blade that I'll actually enjoy using. It's just different enough that I genuinely like it.

I sure do understand the waiting and I hope I didn't rub it in too much in my post above. Hope you find that 66 slim soon.

My pleasure! I would have scooped one up in Ebony had I not seen the Blood Red Bone SFO. I usually can only justify getting one example from any given run of knives and sometimes the choice can be rather difficult...

However, I will most certainly enjoy the pictures of everyone's Ebony 66s.

I'll have four Calf Ropers from this run after it's all said & done. Number one arrived today. The Ebony on this one is quite a bit lighter in color than I expected but it looks great and I really like it. Such a great size and shape for a Stockman pattern.

I just received one in today's mail. It is a lot darker, with just a light streak in line with the shield. I'd say both look very nice. This is my first 66, and it exceeds my (high) expectations.
