Great Eastern Cutlery: #66 - Equal End Serpentine

I am a great fan of the Schrade SS 825 and carry one regularly - its still my favourite traditional EDC. It will be interesting to see if the 66 stockamn replaces it in my rotation - they are very similar knives, the notable difference is the main blade's shape and the offset angle in relation to the handle. Here it is compared to the only 66 I currently own.

These knives often have weaker secondary springs. It may be common to small stockmen knives?

Are we on a tangent? GEC markings make up an interesting and somewhat extensive topic.
Should we start a thread? I have dug up a few interesting markings.
Maybe we should take it to "Let's Talk GEC" unless it has already been covered.
Can anyone say?

Not a bad idea for a thread, Chollie. It can cover shields as well.

My humble collection of the great #66.

Wish I could add a blue camel bone to the herd, but alas, funding has dried up.

accidentally lucked into checking a site and found the blue camels were released. I think I may have picked one of the last ones so my options were limited but I now have one on order.

Seems like they sold out in about half hour. They were gone 35 mins after their post on instagram.

I saw a few of them before they disappeared and was generally unimpressed with the dye jobs. I know camel bone takes it differently, yadda, yadda yadda, but still. If you have KSF blue camel bone collection, you have to have it, lol.

Also, the standard cloud shield wasn't very tempting, given all the other nice shields on this run.

Beautiful!

(Strip anything after .jpg in a P-bucket image link [yours didn't have anything extra], add ~original after .jpg, and your image, images, will appear here-- for now.)

I currently have 4 of the 66's with 2 more inbound. In regard to the pull on the secondaries, I do wish there was a little more snap, however these are beautiful knives and I'm very happy.

Perhaps what is most impressive is the consistancy of the W&T of these knives. All of mine are virtually identical, and the main blades are all about a 6.

Beautiful collection! Thank you pertinux for fixing the link so we could take a look. I can't wait for my Hemlock to come in.

Yup, makes me real fidgety looking at them on other sites. The price you pay to guarantee one, though! I'm just super excited, it's my favorite of this run (in pictures).

I feel the same, without having actually held it or seeing it up close, I think this is my favorite of the run.

Colin, I wouldn't be surprised if GEC intentionally ships to the other dealers first knowing that CK's are already spoken for. This way they get them all out and sold in the shortest amount of time.

Could be. I assumed it had to do with shipping time from GEC, staffing, etc... but I'm all for a good old conspiracy theory!

Every reserve I've had with CK that was part of a regular run was received after it was generally available. Like you said if that's the price to guarantee receiving one, it's fine by me.
