Grizzly 2X42 grinder

Oh it's getting cut and split for me and my dad's stoves. I can def find easier and cheaper ways to drop trees though. It actually took down 4 when it fell. Got a sweetgum (worthless) apple(mill to use on lathe and smoker) and an elm (Mill for lathe) now I have an opportunity to build back better of what I learned from the first one. The forge and anvil in relation to the post vice is def going to be different. And that dusty ass grinder is going to be far away from everything. Probably right beside the dusty ass lathe.

This came across my feed yesterday. It's the guy that owns servomotorkit.com. Definitely not a beginner level upgrade but if you're like me and bought one of the first ones to come out may be worth the trouble.

I have often thought the servo motor would be a good replacement for the motor. Here's an Amazon servo for $123 shipped that would work nicely. Just do a search on item #B09WZRLM38

Hey there everyone. New here and this is my first post on this forum. Like others in this thread I bought the Grizzly 2x42 grinder and ended up with controller/motor issues. Mine tended to overheat constantly and eventually ended up just dying at random with an error code on the display. This forum is where I found info leading me to reach out to servomotorkit/The Custom Crafter. He worked with me to build custom options to fix my grinder and I really just wanted to give a shout out here to all the hard work he put into making a kit that works to upgrade this grinder. He built out a kit to upgrade this machine to 2HP with a 6" drive wheel that will take both 42" or 48" belts. Hope this is helpful to anyone else looking to upgrade this machine.

Really interesting news. Just a few days back he said he'd do the 1HP kit. Now there's a 2HP kit. Ironically, my motor finally failed. I was doing my first radius grind with the Tobin Machine Universal Blade Jig. The built in push stick caused too much resistance for Grizzly's motor. I'll likely get this kit soon.
