gsm strikes again.....Gladius machete oh boy......

How hard would it have been to keep Lynn on as a consultant? And why wouldn't he want to do it, or at least submit someone for the job, given that it's only his life's work and legacy on the line?

Can't say that either CS machete I had came with an edge of any kind.
Once sharpened, the one was still a worthless piece of crap that couldn't hold an edge against 1/4 inch green stalks. The other was a decent chopper (useless for light to medium work, which was anticipated)

Oh I do remember that video now that you post it... so what happened to that???? Grrrrrrumble grumble snort

Initially, I want to laugh at how terrible that is. Then I remember that not only are people's time, money, and effort being wasted on this nonsense, but they are actively destroying the Cold Steel Brand, and in quick order. And that pisses me off. I hope the payout was big Lynn...........
What was Lynn supposed to do? It is GSM that has decided to burn the brand for a quick profit. They will likely sell the name again in a year or so and perhaps the new owners will be more serious about restoring the old legacy.

Heck , welp if GSM has to eventually deep discount all their unsharpened machetes , I could use a few more .

I can sharpen ! ;)

Poor GSM : Greedy plus stoopid is a tough way to go .
You left out ignorant. They are greedy “stoopid” and ignorant. A combination that will never spell success.

I don't have a problem with a company being greedy as long as they get the basic fundamentals of good business right.

If they want to charge more, fine, but provide GREAT customer service, GREAT warranty service, provide a knowledgeable rep who can answer questions from customers and potential customers, and actually CARE about customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. At least those are what I consider the basic fundamentals of good business.

Oh yeah, and quality control. Like I said, the basics.

I wouldn't mind paying more if they did all of that.

I checked the reviews for the Gladius Machete on the bookstore site and they have even more negative reviews due to the lack of an edge than before, and now such reviews are being written for the Wakizashi Machete.

I was quite a big CS fan beforehand. For what they did they had some nice knives at good prices and being in the UK it's somewhat harder to obtain many of the smaller makers knives here like Carothers etc...

Recently managed to purchase I'm guessing an older stock Italian made (Fox or Lionsteel?) Medium tanto in 3v, got rid of the stone wash/warcraft mottif Which I really don't care for and it's a nice looking well made knife from premium materials particularly for the price.

Out of principle I will not buying anymore CS knives whilst owned by this company.
