GSO 5.1 preorder opening soon!

As always, thanks, sis.

My little freak out came from wanting to look out for you and avoid adding to the stewing cauldron of discontent that seems to be the official facebook page. I'd like to think that all of us here understand and support what you and Guy are doing, but others in other corners of the internet just don't seem to get it. Keep on keeping on, you 3

I know what you mean, that is why we tried to make the "no guaranteed delivery date" pretty obvious by using bullet points and fun colors. I will say, the facebook fan group does seem to be turning around a bit. There are some good things happening over there right now. Though, our actual business facebook page can be daunting at times.

Oh I know you're trying so hard to be clear for all of us. The fan page is getting back to being a fan page now that they figured out the 5.1 Monday sales. The official page though, I always feel bad anytime you make an announcement there.......

i don't have fb for the sole reason that it is collectively inhabited by (insert expletive)

Silver, now that we have Ellie's blessing, you are free to make a comment to anyone QQing on FB about the preorder that I will pay them $20 to take their spot on a 20CV on the 4.7 run. All they have to do is contact me, and voila. If anyone actually does, I will give you my email for them. They will profit from their wait. Hopefully that will get some of them to give it a rest.

Justin, because almost all the transaction are done online either using credit cards directly or using credit cards through PayPal; you could potentially be opening a can of worms doing business in this form. I suggest that if you are planning to do $$$ + 20, then send it by PayPal because if the original buyer develops a serious case of sellers remorse and tries to do a chargeback against Survive!, you could also potentially become a party attached to that nonsense. Survive! does clearly state in their policies that they do block doing business with those who initiate chargeback action against them without their prior knowledge. Plus an unsavory character can take the $ from you and then just change back to the original address.

IMHO if Survive! ends up getting some small amounts of cancelled orders or chargebacks, they should just float those prior orders during their Monday sales as something other than Factory 2nds and turn them into good $$$ instantly!

Thanks for your advice. I would have no problem trusting someone for the forums, but I don't trust FB users at all. Good points brother.

I'll keep my eyes open, but as far as anyone having a sincere interest you might have better luck on Mondays!

I should have clarified my opinion a bit better :)

The various members of this sub forum seem to be a tightly knit group so we would all feel a lot safer doing a handshake kind of a deal with other the boardies ;)

The statement that there hasn't been as many orders in order to prioritize it up the production line?

Sounds like, since orders are not up to where they want them to start production of the larger knives (GSO 10 or 8), that they are trying to decide on whether to do a small run of the large knives at little profit or put them on hold to run some 5.1s first.

This all means that the preorders placed haven’t really been enough to justify starting a full production run yet. So, remembering that we are not a non-profit, do we invest in carrying the rest of those runs with less orders or make more of the GSO-5.1? We will definitely be getting production moving on the GSO-10 and GSO-8 as soon as we can, but we also need to keep the lights on while retaining enough capital to pay our service providers.

Have pre-orders in for 4.1, 7/7, and 6, in that order. I also ordered a 20CV 5.1 in pre-sale, and a 3V 4.7 pre-sale. And a CruForge V 4.7. And I still pre-ordered this 5.1 in 3V in the first hour of the pre-orders opening. I got the 20CV 5.1 already, but no movement on anything else. And I'm not particularly worried. Except for one. I thought the CruForge V 4.7's were in stock and ready to go. More or less like the seconds orders. Or even more so, because there aren't options. So I was expecting it to turn around fairly quickly. But it has been a couple of weeks now, at least, and nothing. THAT'S the only one I'm getting antsy about.

But whatever. The money is paid, while I have it. At least I don't need to worry about unpleasant surprises.

I got the impression thet had several of them on hand as well, when they were sold as mystery steel. I also ordered one, but later noted they are not done with Cerakote yet. I'm assuming they will not say pre-production sample on them, like the others did.

I could be way wrong, but you are not alone on still waiting either way.

It's my understanding that the cruforge are still needing the cerakoating process to be performed before being ready for shipment. End of this month perhaps? Ellie gave a timeframe somewhere on the boards.

Anyone remember offhand?

Originally the Production Update said end of May, however, all estimates were removed last week.

That is in no way the right thing to do.
I gave them money more than one year ago knowing that the GSO 8 would probably be the last one made out of the initial batches... I'm ok with that: I knew the total number of runs that I had to wait for.
What is not right is extending the list in front of knives that have already been paid for.
I paid for a knife, I'm not a generous investor in their company.

How would you react if you bought a car but the salesman filled other peoples order before yours because it makes more profit for him.
