GSO 5.1 preorder opening soon!

It will come and nothing is being held back. We will be making the GSO-10 and the GSO-8 as soon as it makes sense to do so. We are super excited about both of those models and can't wait for them to be a reality. In all honesty with working some other things into the mix the timeline on these will still be the same as it was going to be, possibly even sooner.

I can't be on the forums anymore today because the to do list is long. I just want to point out that we have tried to be as open and honest and upfront as possible. We are not in this to steal your money or anything nefarious like that. It just takes a large time and money investment to get these all made. We are going to keep doing everything in our power to get all of the knives done as quickly as possible.

You've all been here with me on the forums for some time now and together we've built quite a neat little community in this corner of the internet. I feel like we do a pretty good job of answering questions and concerns here. All I can ask is that you take that into consideration and trust us to keep this boat afloat and on course.

Thanks !
I feel better now :D

I just had to order another 5.1 since its going to help y'all get your 8s, 10s, & 12s sooner :)

noticed that my order number is almost 250 greater than my order from yesterday. I wonder if all those are for the 5.1?!

Oh, you're so helpful.:p

Half are ebay scalpers wanting to flip that Delta 3V.......have no idea really but Delta 3V and micro-texture is sure to make 'em fast sellers. Maybe the large knives will get micro-texture since patience is a virtue.:D

The GSO 10 & 8 have us excited too Ellie!
We will wait patiently or impatiently.

I'd of spent a G already on Survive knives, but I can't spend money on something that doesn't hit my hand shortly thereafter...

The business model is a bit of a bummer. But, I really do appreciate the transparency.

Maybe one day production will ramp enough that I can buy one when they're in stock vs. Preordering them...

One can hope

I'm fairly certain that their order numbers are associated with every single item which they currently carry, are in production or are on preorder. In other words, they have had 250 increases in ALL orders since you had ordered last, not just GSO 5.1, unless no one ordered anything else but the new batch of the Delta 3V GSO 5.1 :D

You guys motivated me into helping out too. Just placed my order for a 3V 5.1 with camo G10 scales.

I don't normally pay up front for knives that are not made yet but I've made exceptions to Guy & Ellie. Even though Ellie hates my guts, i still support the product. :D

FYI, Always put an asterisk when i order, you'll never know if i want switch my options or cancel LOL

But even if the so-called scalpers are putting in orders to improve the cash crunch situation so that Survive! can go ahead and order the minimum required material for those larger and less sought after blades, then it should be a win-win for everyone and I for one won't be complaining.

250+ in orders in one day is very encouraging and hopefully brought some smiles to Survive! Just as a comparison, my first order # on 4/11/16 was # 8471. My extra set of fasteners which I had ordered on 5/05 had order # 8819 and then the 4.7 on Monday 5/09 was # 8882.

So in a rudimentary way, that's like barely over 400 single orders in 28 days from 2 PM PST, so 250 in one day is very impressive and should help out all those who are waiting and anticipating.

I think that I'm going to pass up on the newest preproduction 5.1 with Delta 3V and micro texture handle scales and instead preorder a GSO 6 which closes out on Friday 5/13. I thought that I was going to love the choil option but I have decided that for me, the farther my fingers are from an exposed blade planted firmly on the handle of the knife, the better for clumsy Ol' me! I still don't mind that choil on the larger knives like GSO 10 and 12 as I won't use it to choke up, but on a shorter length blade I may just do that!

Ellie, do you know if the 2nd run of 5.1s will happen before the 6s? If so I'll probably order another 5.1 to get my hands on a blade that size in the new improved and more delicious heat treat.

Sorry to tell you this Casino, most of those orders are me trying to figure out the best Handle/Fastener?Sheath combo.

This would be using a middle man, which means we either make little to nothing on those blades or we raise prices. We tried dealers, and it didn't work for us.

Bummer. My FNG-ness at work. Please pardon my language, and forgive my ignorance. I didn't realize it killed your margin so much. That kinda sucks. It is good for us (I think) that you cut your margin so close. But, not so much when it kills your agility. In any case, you know more about it than I. I just thought (foolishly) that it might be something to consider. Of course you would have already considered it, because this is how you feed your family.

They used to have dealers. PM me if you want some info on how that went down!

LOL @ you Justin! What a buzzkill :D

I had seen that Blade HQ used to carry the older model Survive! knives but I suppose that situation did not turn out to be an ideal way for Survive! to go on about their business.

You can buy them when they are new, without waiting. That is what the secondary market it for. You have your time preference, pay for it.
