Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

A few photos to show the newest member to my A. Wright and Son collection. This is a Large Real Lamb Foot Model in Rosewood. I ordered this knife from an online auction site. I did order it from a dealer located in the UK. I won't mention the name here for obvious reasons. The Rosewood is quite nice. I will say that the fit and finish on this one is not as nice as my Ebony that I received from Jack's GAW. The main difference being in the back spring area with some gaps and unevenness. This knife is however still a very functional and very sturdy work knife for the price invested. Which by the way, I believe is the original intent of this pattern. I also have a comparison shot with my regular sized Ebony.

Count me in as the newest member of the Guardians! Mr. Black, generous as always, included this A. Wright lambsfoot in a care package he sent (a full post on the care package is forthcoming).

This is a great knife. Fills the hand nicely, took a razor edge with little fuss, and the action's nice and smooth once I got all the normal new knife gunk flushed out of the joint and oiled up. :thumbup:

Very nice Ron, looks like a solid user my friend. I think Wright's only put the 'Real Lamb Foot' etch on the satin-finished blades

Thank you Ron, it's always a treat to be able to return a little of the great generosity I've received on this fine forum...and to be able to introduce someone to the Lambsfoot of course!

I actually saw the old etching machine when I visited the works. As you'll have seen the etch is shallow, and almost certainly put on before the knives are put together, so the mirror-polished blades MAY have HAD an etch, if you see what I mean

I wish there was a Washington Jack with a lambsfoot. Just for fun, what are your thoughts? ... is the 77 frame suited for a lambsfoot blade?

Feels pretty good! I only have one other knife in buffalo horn - A Queen Small Sleeveboard. This horn feels much smoother. Almost feels like plastic if you didn't know any better. Transitions at the bolsters are close and smooth. I was a little worried from some pictures. Some rough edges along the spine on the liners, but overall, Jordan sent me a good one. Nice and snappy, and fairly sharp. Some oil to flush the pivot and some time with the strop, and into the pocket it went.

Not sure about the 77 frame, but maybe on the 47 frame
