Thank you kindly, John. I do use filters, but often they’re minimal. Allow me(forgive me)to show the unprocessed image, direct from the iPhone, along with the final post processed image. Mother Nature is the real artist.Thank you.
That's a cool filter/effect. Looks like a painting. Super cool![]()

Always wondered what I'd been doing wrong
Photo taken from Tunnel View? That's Bridal Veil Falls
Yes it did, John, there is that phenomenon called chinook, snow eaters, a wind that blows down the east side of the Rocky Mountains. It is a dry warm air and makes quick work of the snow, especially, this time of the year. Add to that, the ground was warmed up by the warm temperatures just before the storm. That snow melted very quickly.
Congratulations, almost un heard of inThanks Jack.Me and the Missus will be celebrating our 50th in September, I plan on ordering a license plate with Me & Mrs on it.

It won't be easy and will take time away from things I like to do...I don't like housework or yard work!
I'm having lunch and doing that now, thanks, Jack!Hope you get the chance to put your feet up later PrestonGreat pic my friend

Praying that you can get your health challenges sorted out, Dennis, and that you can do it with patience and your usual positive attitude!!...
Thank you very much, Harvey! Working on it. Gotta get a heart issue fixed before the neck and shoulder now.
...
Pleasing oxhorn on the bottom knife, Dennis!
Hale and hearty horn on your Hunter, Harvey!
Is your opening paragraph a list of qualifications for the Guardians???Head trauma, in-breeding, unlimited power, failed poisoning attempts, venereal disease, booze...Could be any number of reasons so many of them were barmy!![]()

Here! Here!Nice pic of your Man Jack GT

Congrats on obtaining a lambsfoot, @WHT!!After reading through this forum, I thought I would see what all the fuss is about; so, I bought a Rodger's lambs foot foot from a fellow blade forum member. While it is smaller than I imagined, I do like it. Now, maybe I will move on to a A. Wright. It will be a user.
Crazy weather, Preston!Morning Guardians from the wacky weather state of Colorado! Last night and through this morning the snow gods descended on my area and dropped 8-10 inches of the heavy white stuff.
...
Thanks, Vince; I'm in total agreement with your assessment of the quality of that run of ACs!Thanks, Gary. I love both sides, which are very different from one another. But the batch of 28 all look good to me. Love that Cracker Jack of yours.
Good deal, Taylor; 1.5 years isn't that long!5K Qs I can do emergency substitute teaching after this semester. I'm a year and a half away!
I don't know about the connection - not very esoteric. I just thought that Jack and others across the pond might enjoy seeing "days gone by".
After all, The Times, They Are A Changin'
Thank you for the kind words about the trip.

Thanks for the reply, OG....
Sometimes you just have to let art be.![]()
Thanks, Jack; my idea for using the tin is certainly not my own, but a combination of what at least a couple of other Guardians described....
Nice idea GT, and a nice pic of your Man Jack![]()
...
You're right about sleeping dogs, Mark....
Thanks, Gary.I always enjoy yours and others dog pics, as well. They look sooo content when sleeping. I swear Daisy smiles while she sleeps.

Horn on a Houseboat: Old Toffee Wings looks splendid on a houseboat!
Congrats on the superb surprise, Vince!!Had a wonderful surprise today, Guardians. Got home after work and found an unexpected package in my mailbox. Air mail. From England! A postcard inside informed me that Taylor (@tmd_87), winner of the third lambsfoot inJack Black 's recent GAW, had instructed Jack to forward the prize to me!
It is a limited edition African Rosewood lambsfoot from A. Wright & Son. And a gorgeous specimen!
What a lovely gesture, Taylor. A million thanks!
Jack included a few goodies in the package:

A Leeds "Potts Clocks Heritage Trail" walking map; an interesting postcard; a lamb button; an old Irish coin (!); a Yorskshire pen; a Guinness (best drink in the world) pencil; and a White Rose of Yorkshire magnet. What a treat!
...
Lovely covers, and great fit and finish. I'm going to put an even better edge on it later this week with my Arkansas stone, and flush the joints even if it doesn't need it. The pull is perfect, and the lockup is tight. Feels great in the hand. What a pleasant surprise!
Thanks again to Taylor, and a big thanks to Jack. This is the best thread in the best forum on the internet.
Cheers!

Howdy Bucks and Buckaroos and a good Friday to all.
One of my favorite quotes in the Blues Brothers is while getting ready to play at Bob's Country Bunker, they ask Mrs. Bob what kind of music do they have. She says "Oh we have both kinds, Country and Western". Here's the Tennessee Cowboy

Thanks Jack. Lucy... on the lamb...I went straightway and had a Corona Extra in support of your afternoon. Wish we could have one together.
Lovely lambs my friends.
That would be scary with all the you guys get. It must swell the rivers something fierce!Yes it did, John, there is that phenomenon called chinook, snow eaters, a wind that blows down the east side of the Rocky Mountains. It is a dry warm air and makes quick work of the snow, especially, this time of the year. Add to that, the ground was warmed up by the warm temperatures just before the storm.
I guess I just need to develop a more refined "eye for photos".My apologies John. Nothing wrong with your phone. My irrational over sensitivity...That’s another story.
And looking very "manly", GT.
Gary, the weather guessers did predict the rain and some snow...just not the amount we got. Springtime in Colorado!Crazy weather, Preston! What was the forecast: partly cloudy with an 80% chance of insanity??
Sometimes the run-off is massive and the rivers on both sides of the divide, depending on the snowpack and how warm the weather. This year they changed the way they measure snowpack and the news media is running with it, now five times what it was last year. Again, many things impact the runoff so it remains to be seen what this year's will be like. Most of the water from Colorado's snowpack is somebody else's downstream. That would be scary with all the you guys get. It must swell the rivers something fierce!
Yep, Tunnel View is the placePhoto taken from Tunnel View?![]()
"it's not often these days that I have a drink before sundown" - it's always sundown...somewhereVery interesting to see those pics Harvey, you're a great photographerThank you very much, it's not often these days that I have a drink before sundown, but it has been a nice day here, and with the holiday weekend approaching, a few other folks had the same idea. Nice to sit outside, in warm sunshine, after the winter

Great film OG, back when I was still a young 'un, and VCRs were a fairly new thing, after the pub, we would end up going back to the home of the only guy we knew who owned one - and he only owned one tape! I dread to think how many times I've seen that film - but never tired of it!![]()
