Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you, Jack. I am well, just very busy. I have a garden to tend, kids getting out of school, and work has certainly been keeping me occupied. I don't have nearly enough hours in the day, I just have to be content to chime in when I can until things settle a bit.

Those look very fine, Jack! What a terrific etch and stamp! These are very special, well done!

After my son's cello concert the other day, I felt motivated to tune up my fiddle, it's been awhile since I've sawed out a few tunes. I thought it paired nicely with my damascus in Stag.

Thanks for the kind words Dylan, it is always great to have you here, and that is another fantastic pic :) I should have guessed you played the fiddle! :)

That’s a good one Jack! You’ve made my day my friend! :D

Beautiful Jack! :D  :D

LOL! Thanks Ron! :D

Morning folks, I'm sure I'm not alone in having my thoughts preoccupied with events 75 years ago, and the bravery of those young men, many of whom would never grow old :(

My computer has been in and out of the shop and is going back again today. Something is not right with whatever allows the cursor to pick up and move items. Real frustrating...especially having to take it into the metro area, where the shop is and dealing with the traffic.

Have a great 'hump day'...

If it's connected by a wire, have you tried re-routing the path of the cable? If it's wireless, have you tried changing the batteries?
Just guesses, but might be worth a try  Great pic!

Wonderful shot

Wishing fellow Guardians a wonderful Wednesday.

I think Chonies is a word that could be quite popular round here... :D
Btw you do nice meat pies in Texas :thumbsup:
Great cartoon OG. :D The image that popped into my head was of the chap in your avatar lying on a la-Z boy in pants just like the brown dog is wearing. I'm not getting rid of that image soon enough...:( :D

Thank you, my friend. I do feel that my phone has started to age a bit. It is amazing to see the improvements that a couple of years of tech development can render. My wife's phone is considerably newer and the shots she can take are pretty impressive.
Thanks, Dylan, I'm using my wife's old iPhone 4 o_O so that's as good as I can get my photos. :p

Here's a pic I posted in the EDC thread today

My maternal grandfather was part of the British D-Day forces. He was always making things. He made small 'Spitfires' out of old British ha'pennies with just a hacksaw and a pair of pliers. Usually he'd round the wings and make them look just like a tiny plane. The one in the photo above was made when he was old, out of a British decimal coin (2p), he didn't file the edges so that me and my brother and sister, who also got one, could see they were coins :)

Those are way cooler than any knife.

That is very cool, Jack! I'm staring at it, trying to puzzle out the origami in reverse. Our pennies are much smaller, and not really copper anymore, so I think it would be pretty hard to do. o_O

Very interesting Jack. Did your grandfather cut the penny into separate pieces and "weld" them back together? I can't figure out how it could be done keeping the coin all in one piece. The little booklet they are sitting on is also of interest. Can you elaborate on the booklet?

Thanks Dwight, it's been a long time since Sheffield made a Barlow like this I think, and Wright's have certainly never made one :)

Thanks folks, the penny is still in one piece, the wings are single thickness, and the rest is folded double. I thought I had a better pic of it somewhere, but it turns out I just have ANOTHER photo of it! I'm glad I still have it :)

I know a guy who makes rings out of coins, pretty incredible really, as there's no join at all, but he has a machine to do it

I still haven't managed to get my internet service sorted out yet I'm afraid, it makes uploading pics extremely difficult :( I'm not going to be around much over the next couple of days I'm afraid, but I'll pop in when I can

Jack Black Jack Black the barlows look really great! The stamp (as others have already said) came out very nicely. What are the dimensions of this barlow? Smaller, like the Ashley's Choice lambsfoot, or bigger like the 2019 Ironwood lambsfoot?

Love the design, Jack. Very nice

Thanks John. It's a pity it's not a real one then 'cos I've just looked them up. Genuine ones are...errr.... worth a few bob aren't they...
Trust me, the copy cost me plenty enough.

You could move to Cochrane in Alberta. I hear it's got great pubs and fantastic eateries with more appearing every day!
I'm trying to convince the wife to have a three season home in Montana, and Winter back here in California.
