Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Apologies for the radio silence, folks. I had a rather busy weekend that took me away from home and found me a wee bit under the weather the last couple of days. However, all is well.

I haven't done much more than a cursory check in here and there so I have some catching up to do here on the forums from the last few days.

I will be providing an email update on the pocket slips later today but if all the planets align accordingly, they should start popping up in mailboxes later this week. I appreciate everyone's patience, it was a bit more work that I had initially expected and my busy weekend certainly didn't help matters. I do hope they are worth the wait though.

Looking forward to seeing the inevitable flood of pictures displaying the Guardians Lambsfoot in hand!
Stay well Dylan. Speaking for myself, I have enough excitement for now:)

Tracking shows that mine has been in the neighborhood, possibly at the post office, since last Friday morning but for some reason has not been put into the PO box yet. o_O I may have to go up to the counter and ask the nice lady there to dig around in the back for it.

That is very poor with a tracked parcel isn't it? I had expected you to get it before the weekend r8shell. I hope you're going to get it soon

mine has arrived!

here it is with it's brother who helped opened the package!

will need to add a rosewood in the 6.25 inch size and probably another snakewood since its straight and no sway!

thanks again for all the hardwork and dedication to this endeavor Jack Black, enjoy that drink!

Congratulations my friend :)

Some beautiful shades there, can't wait to see it out in the light :) Love the group shot

Cheers :)

Thanks for sharing your excitement Alan! :D :)

Arrival! So, I'm taking a chance telling this story, but it has pictures? My grandkids like to play with my intercom system which also controls the volume on the doorbell, so they apparently turned it all the way down. < Note I'm blaming an 8 year old.

Anyway; after the run-around I got, the carrier arrive at my house with my package, rang the bell, got no answer and left a ticket for me she will re-deliver tomorrow. Well, tomorrow I won't be there. Luckily, I saw her through the LR window. I ran her down (with no shoes on by the way). In her little truck, she couldn't hear me, so it took awhile.

Anyway: Bad iPhone photo, but I got my Guardians Lambsfoot !!!!

Thank you Jack. These are amazing. The quality is superior to the one you so kindly sent me. And, I thought that was pretty good. A thorough flush and maybe some minor Chin type work to loosen the pull a little and this could take over for my Davison as my EDC. Possibly, maybe, we'll see. :)

Awesome save there, Alan! You nearly made me snort coffee out my nose at lunchtime today, laughing out loud along with your post!:D:)

I pictured a David Attenborough nature doco type scene, crossed with an action movie image of you peering out from behind your curtains at the departing postal truck, and muttering 'Oh no you DON'T!' through gritted teeth, before sprinting down the street in your socks and hanging off the back of the van Terminator style to retrieve your quarry. Then stalking back down the middle of the street like a cheetah with its prey held high for all to see...LOL!:D:p:)

And what an exceptional Lambsfoot, you got. Wow - so beautiful, and somewhat reminiscent of rams horn in it's colour patterning.:thumbsup:

Beautiful, Alan! Such movement!! It looks like it is going by real fast!!

I think those Futurist speed lines in the covers are a result of whiplash from the high G-forces, being snatched out of the driver's hand so fast! And just ignore those strange looks from the neighbours, Alan, my friend - you're a true Guardian, no doubt!!!;):D

Sheesh, you got a real beauty too, MrKnife. In fact I'd venture to say the best mark/pile side combo, so far. (I often try to look out for those knives with a more striking pile side, being a lefty, and you got a great one.) What a superb array of Lambsfoot knives you've accumulated there, my friend.

I sometimes think the overall impact gets a bit diffused in large group collection photos, but your pic really features some stunning contrasts. Nice work, and congrats on a real looker!

Let us see what it looks like with a bit of sunlight on it!;)

Ok, I'll let you all in on a little secret of how I got mine so quickly. Let's just say the Royal Mail carrier pigeons are intercepted at the border by a friend and hand delivered at top speed, without delay!

Here's my buddy delivering my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot.:p:D;)

LOL! :D Grreat pics Chin! :D

With both sides of the knife having covers of the Super Duper horn, I think we're going to see a lot of Double A sides! ;)

Tried to go to Post Office this morning before work to pick up my package. The slip that was left on my door said it would be available after 6:00am. Took me a while to make it back here. Once I started sharpening the Rosewood, I confirmed that the blade curve, though slight, was too much for a flat stone. Grind is uneven with a lot of steel needing to be removed from the concave side. I like the knife though, so I'm working through it...it's just slow going with the corners of my Sharpmaker. Eventually, it will make it into my pocket.

Finally had a chance to spend more time on it last night and got it ground all the way to the edge. In my pocket today and ready to cut its first lunch-time apple.

Looks fantastic Archie

Well, as promised, after waiting the agonizingly long hours until lunch time, I went to my local Post Office, waited for what seemed to be akin to eternity in the lengthy line, and finally picked up my package from Jack. I hurried home so that I could eat a quick lunch and examine the contents of aforementioned package in the comfort of my own abode.

Jack had mentioned that he was including something a bit extra in the package and I was absolutely thrilled to find some good Sheffield memorabilia and not just one, but two knives! A Joseph Rodgers & Sons Postcard with a handwritten note from Jack himself, a Bad Company Beer Mat, a Sheffield pin and keychain, and a couple of old coins.

I was certainly expecting the 2017 Guardians knife but the second was a wonderful surprise. A small lambsfoot with some stunning horn covers. They are translucent and the brass liners makes them practically glow! As some of you are probably aware, I had ordered a horn covered lambsfoot knife some time ago and it turned into a big disappointment. However, both of these knives more than meet the expectations I once had for a quality horn handled knife and my faith and enthusiasm are now restored ;).

These are beautiful knives, the horn warm and pleasant, the pins flush, the action nice and stout. The ground bolsters on the Guardians knife are beautifully done and just add some wonderful class to this knife. So thrilled was I with these knives that I couldn't decide which one to carry, so I am carrying them both, replacing the two previous occupants of my pockets.

Very nicely done, Jack. Thank you so much for all your efforts and for bringing us such a wonderful product, it is a knife to be treasured for all time and one I hope to pass on to my children and/or grandchildren if I am so blessed. And thank you for the Sheffield care package, I am so very pleased and extremely grateful.

Enough of my ramblings, must have pictures!!! I quickly discovered that Horn is a little harder to photograph, due to its glossy finish, I am not sure that I have captured the true beauty of these knives, but I gave it my best with the time that I had.

A simple LIKE just is not enough for those beauties Dylan .

WOW! Dylan those are two beautiful examples! I hope I will get to see mine sometime this week. They left Memphis and made two stops in Nashville! They finally left there this morning for what I am sure will be at least two or three more stops. They say patience is a virtue! Can’t prove it by me!! :p

Amazing beauties !!!!!! Looking forward to seeing more of them

haha hey guys...this is what I go through everytime I buy a knife- I dont see it for weeks- at times months if at Pauls House!

Ha ha ha! Right you are mate:D Now our American friends know what it's like to wait for ' the Prince from over the water' In my case, the journey can be quite quick, the interminable wait begins once the Customs Slow Worms get hold of it....aaargh:eek:

Mind you, the wait is usually worth it and in the case of Padruig's duo, really worth it!

Thanks, Will
