Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Ron, one is actually my DamLamb, I thought it was owed some pocket-time :) Great pic my friend :)
Thanks Jack! :)

The rosewoods are every bit as nice as the stags.
Thanks John! The Rosewoods are very nice! Congratulations to your son, I hope all goes well today! :D

Ron, those are a couple of heavenly Hartshead Barlows!:cool::thumbsup: I can see where the asymmetry of the stag slabs can be considered less than ideal visually, but I agree with Steve that having thicker stag on the pile side (for a right-hand user) actually improves the feel of a stag-handled knife, at least with the grip I typically use. (Of course, all these aesthetic issues are very subjective.)
Thanks for the compliment Gary! (Of course they are subjective!)

Congrats on a stunning pic of your stunning Lambsfoot

Here are my four Lambs JohnDF JohnDF . Been a great year for the Lambsfoot knife!

Outstanding collection, Taylor

Great Sunday afternoon to you, Guardians. Ten pages behind...oh well, know that I'm around and thinking Lambsfoot thoughts. Yucca is prevalent around here, much to my disfavor, because it has very sharp needle like points on the end of the spikes(danger to Dutch) and is all but impossible to get rid of. The blooms how ever are spectacular(see below), these have not reached their height...I will post more later. It is on the fence line between me and neighbor's property, I have worked hard not to have any that can't be mowed! Hope your weekend has one well.
IMG_1194.JPG
I seemed to recall that Yucca is one of those plants that has numerous health benefits - so I looked it up and found (FWIW) it can be used to help control diabetes, aid in digestion, lower cholesterol, reduce stress on the heart, among a bunch of other stuff.
It's a source of potassium, as well as Folic Acid and has a high level of Vitamin C. It also is supposed to help relieve arthritic pain due to it's anti-inflammatory properties, improve cognition and is supposed to help with migraines.
Thought that was kinda interesting

So... today was the day for my attempt at Texas-style smoked hot links. :)
Here's the first of two strings to come off of the smoker:

ag75vEjh.jpg

Shortly afterwards, I used my Hartshead Barlow to separate the links. And to cut one open (gotta get that patina going, tmd_87 tmd_87 ;)):

nyjPwCMh.jpg

It sliced through it like butter.
I'm quite happy with the texture and level of smoke, but I need to bump up the heat next time. In the mean time, a judicious dose of Austin's Own BBQ Sauce (Border Edition - Medium; my favorite BBQ sauce) gave it some needed kick and the sausage was the main part of an enjoyable lunch.
Have a great rest of your weekend, everyone!
Lookin' absolutely DELICIOUS :thumbsup::thumbsup: Wonder if r8shell's Well's Fargo wagon might bring some my way?
OG

They look great Greg! As an Apprentice Butcher/Meat cutter when I was 16, sausage making curing and smoking of the Hams and Bacon was where they started me off. :)

Again, ...hard to beat these guys!! Great design!:)

I spent the morning cleaning the garage and getting my Jeep ready for some trail time, as soon as all the snow melts.

And of course I hand my Rosewood handy for all the cutting chores.
Rosie's all right!:)
We use to have a 2004 Wrangler, a red one!:D Had to trade it off for a Tundra to pull our trailer, but I miss it!

Cracker Jack in his youth:
cj-mark-vopen-alley-jpg.1149678
A fine looking fellow, that Cracker Jack!
The police down in my home town, Silver City NM nicknamed my dad Cracker Jack in his younger days because of drag racing all the time, and he usually got caught!:D
Lambsfoot content ;)

yAs7VZ9.jpg
Another nice foto, Jack! Such nice stag on 'em!:thumbsup:
About time for a family photo I think...

The ironwood is slightly bigger than the rosewood, and the Barlow slightly bigger still.
Little Joe, Adam and Hoss?:D
Great family foto, John!;):thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'm just pausing for a quick beer and a burger (bit of a lazy burger) ;)

Beautiful shot, Preston!:)
It's taken me three days to try to catch up, and some have disappeared after I go back and read it:mad::oops:! But hope to keep up now!

Nice photo, Preston! Growing up, we use to use the old, dead yucca poles, and joust on horseback!:D
We never had problems with yucca plants, but porcupines...that's another story!:D
Twenty years ago, I doubt anybody would believe you could still get knives made like that in Sheffield :)
And no doubt you had a great influence on them, and for that, we are all greatful!!
Jack, such great knives. Walk n talk is superior! The Fit and finish on these knives have seemed to get better and better with each version!
Indeed!
Hey David we have the same haircut. :DView attachment 1149881
Great family shot, Dwight! We are on our second ill tempered, but loveable dachshund! :p:thumbsup:
But forgot all about it.

Don't know if this would qualify, but do love a Bacon, Egg and Chip Butty.

Everyone likes a bacon, egg and chips butty! :)

They look delicious! I'm beginning to think Texas is the capital of fine food.

:D:D:D

My favorite edition to my carry is this sweet Miller High Life lifter!!! I have had it for a while now. But forgot all about it.
View attachment 1149927

What a great cap lifter. I've got half-a-dozen antique ones myself.

All that previous talk of hair cuts and razors reminded me of my youth when my Dad would cut my hair with an old electric clippers. I swear it pulled out more hair than it cut. :)
Here is a pair of Sheffield lovelies...

View attachment 1149953

That's not a hair cut. It's a pluck. :D
That's a magnificent pair; the razor is fantastic. I have my grandad's razor somewhere but it's nowhere near as fine as that example.

David theirs a likeness :D

LOL Dave! I'd give my left arm to have even a fraction of the suave ole' Telly had. :(

Either look great to me! Great looking Helping Horn!:thumbsup:

Thanks Dennis. What an unusual patina you've managed there.

Sounds like you've got an adventure lined up for your Monday. Great stag you have there.
