Beauty!Thank you kindly, eh, Dave?
It's a beauty kind of day!
My wife and I arrived home from NYC late Tuesday night. We'd taken the train down to see the "Play it Loud" exhibit at the MET, catch a Broadway show, meet some relatives visiting from Santa Barbara, and eat some good food (and walk 30 miles in the 5 days we were there!).
We were welcomed home by a new Granddaughter, born the afternoon of July 2nd. Mom and baby are both fine and dandy! The little one surprised us, as she wasn't due for another 9 days.
I also found a great surprise in my mailbox! A Stag Heartshead Barlow, straight from Jack Black's kitchen table! Wow! What an awesome knife, Jack! A. Wright and Sons hit a grand slam on this one, with your help I'm sure. This one might just have my granddaughter's name on it!
Thank you my friend across the pond!

I respectfully submit this as my application for membership in the venerable order of the Lambsfoot Guardians of the Croissant:

Two mini chocolate pretzel croissants. Because you can’t eat just one.![]()
Well done, Vince.I did. That's a Guinness pencil jack gave me.
Gary, that looks like a strain of yucca that is intended for decoration. Could you/would you taken one that shows it more clear and detailed? Thanks. Here's a photo of my rosewood Hartshead Lambsfoot Barlow Jackknife, affectionately known by me as LamBarJack. (Preston, note the patch of yucca in the background.)

I assumed you would have...Thanks, Preston, little does he know, I have a few hidden away just for him, once I see a level headed young man.
Thanks for the explanation...sure like that photo!Thank you Preston for those kind words. Congratulations on your beautiful new Waynorth.
The blade, shiny and reflective as a mirror, is reflecting the tilted window blinds, which can also be seen on the bolster and part of the Sambar.
Thanks Jack, interestingly, I pronounce it the same, I've used small, about 1 1/" long triangular pieces of it fishing for Crappie. It absorbs the water and when lighty jerked/pulled through the water simulates a minnow. Thanks PrestonThat is just a cheap piece of chamois leather out of my tool-box. It was most commonly used for cleaning windows here, and pronounced 'shammy leather'

Thanks, Dennis, I do have my priorities and naps are right up there!Very nice, Preston! The hat, indian paintbrush and the Lamb goes great together!
Naps are important, and require lots of practice!![]()
Chin, thanks, dogs are special creatures, with special abilities and senses. I read an article that said a pipeline company was using a Labrador Retriever to detect possible leaks from pipe buried six feet or more in the round. Thanks for the great description of Dutch at work, Preston. It reminded me of some of Jack O’ Connor’s classic Field and Stream articles. Watching a well trained dog at work is truly a thing of beauty. Sometimes bird dogs here do double duty as scent trailing deer dogs as well. One of my friends has a dog who knows what they will be hunting that day from the firearm that comes out of the safe, and ignores all other quarry.
Pàdruig , congrats on your first garden. I look forward to seeing berries from your own bushes when the time is right. In the mean time, I won’t get tired of looking at photos like that one.
Fine-looking knife, and a great use of colour in your pic Dylan![]()

Congrats on the handsome Hartshead stag, Neal! Please accept this visual documentation as entrance into the prestigious Hartshead Barlow club.
I received this wonderful knife today from our esteemed leader and couldn't be more pleased with it!!!
The fit and finish is superb and both the blade etch and bolster stamp are beautifully executed.
A mighty fine knife from tip to toe, thanks Jack!!!

I've never had it either. Let me know how you like it.Thanks, GT.
I've never tried moose meat. I've had just about every other form of North American critter. I will have to put moose on the bucket list.
Phenomenal photo, Darren!...
Allow me to add...just one more photo of an ebony WaynorthHave a great evening

Looks like you have a sugary glaze on your stag!
Outstanding pic of your ironwood lambsfoot, Alan!
Your AC is Awfully Cute, Dwight!
If you go, don't forget to leave the pets inside. They get scared and restless during the fireworks.
We have two dogs, but only one is really bothered by fireworks. My wife usually takes them out to do their business after I go to bed at night, but Gandalf, the little Shih Tzu/Pomeranian mix, was too scared of occasional explosions this week that I had to take the dogs out as soon as I got up in the morning - not many fireworks at 4:30am. Gandalf is on drugs today to try to help him relax.I've got two dogs and two cats, but I think it's only the lab that freaks out with the fireworks.
Are congratulations in order, ED?

Anybody want my sandwich today, I'm not feeling so well now!![]()

I think you will all recognize it. Thank you very much, Mr. C @waynorth, for developing this lovely Lambfoot Folder.
Photos are a tribute to you in several respects.
A very perfect blend of form fit and function. It is a spectacular knife.
Beads are vintage Czech glass cranberries and hand carved seeds with some bronze pieces intermixed. My vintage African trade beads have all been traded so this is the closest I can come to a Waynorth bead tribute.

They sure don't, but that lambsfoot will cut them any way you want them!I carry a Lambsfoot because herbs don’t cut themselves.

Intriguing find, Jack!I found this Lambsfoot in the market this morning. Unfortunately, some idiot has had the blade in a flame, so I'll have to see how it sharpensIt just has a generic Sheffield stamp, but I think it was made by TEW. The bottle-opener is from the former Tetley's brewery in Leeds

Superb pic of what I'd consider one of GEC's top five knives ever, Dwight!
Harvey, your first pic reminds me of the 50-year high school reunion I attended a few weeks ago.Good Morning Guardians. Be Safe, Happy, and Free.
Thank you to these Guys.

Very interesting!I stumbled across this a few days ago. A purveyor of fine woodworking tools is selling a Sloyd knife styled after an example illustrated in the 1892 edition of “The Teacher’s Hand-book of Slöjd” by Otto Salomon.
Look familiar?

It's a good worker. One downside to taking a vacation is the yard work that piles up when you’re gone. This knife dead-headed a lot of flowers and may have dispatched a volunteer tree or two. I don’t normally dig out roots with a knife, but today I made an exception.
