Great pics! I have to make it a goal to acquire a cannon before next July 4!

That's a good lookin' pair of lambs!

Wishing all our US members a very happy 4th July :)

Thanks Jack! Your SamDamLam is looking good!

Good Morning Guardians
To all my fellow USA Guardians, hope you all have a safe and fun holiday today.
John, your lambs always have that beautiful hand worn look! Lovely pic!

...
We were welcomed home by a new Granddaughter, born the afternoon of July 2nd. Mom and baby are both fine and dandy! The little one surprised us, as she wasn't due for another 9 days.

I also found a great surprise in my mailbox! A Stag Heartshead Barlow, straight from Jack Black's kitchen table! Wow! What an awesome knife, Jack! A. Wright and Sons hit a grand slam on this one, with your help I'm sure. This one might just have my granddaughter's name on it!

Thank you my friend across the pond!

Congrats on the new granddaughter and on the new knife. Couple of great things to celebrate!

Wonderful patriotic pictures and comments from everyone!!!

A well planned day, indeed! Love the composition of these pictures!

I respectfully submit this as my application for membership in the venerable order of the Lambsfoot Guardians of the Croissant:

Two mini chocolate pretzel croissants. Because you can’t eat just one. :D
Lmfao on the LGotC! :D I'd join that club anytime!

Thanks, Jack!
Beauty of a knife! And candy... can't go wrong with candy!

Nice pic. Every time I see those stag HH barlows, I think maybe I should... they all look amazing.

You guys are cracking me up! :p:D Matt, your digestive system is a delicate flower!:D

Man Jack, take 3 for this week:

:D LOL, I better man-up my sandwiches for a while!

Love the Man Jack! Knife, that is...

One downside to taking a vacation is the yard work that piles up when you’re gone. This knife dead-headed a lot of flowers and may have dispatched a volunteer tree or two. I don’t normally dig out roots with a knife, but today I made an exception.

View attachment 1155811
That knife is almost enough to make a person look forward to yardwork!

Like Jack said, a new knife should have a honeymoon period. Gonna be totin' this a lot:

What a knife!
What a knife is right!

Rib eye, crab, potato salad, and watermelon.
I see you followed proper protocol in this situation! Step one... throw away the watermelon. Step two... enjoy the ribeye, crab, and potato salad! :D

Thanks, Harvey. :) I hope you're enjoying the holiday as much as I'm enjoying your photo!:cool::thumbsup:

:D:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Ron. :)

Major congrats, Ray! You sure picked an incredible lambsfoot as your first!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Welcome to the Guardians! :)

Looking luxurious, Vince!! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

They sure don't, but that lambsfoot will cut them any way you want them! ;):thumbsup:

A double "V" to represent the Victory of your lambsfoot Vision, Charlie!! :):cool::thumbsup:

Intriguing find, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Superb pic of what I'd consider one of GEC's top five knives ever, Dwight!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (I haven't actually sat down to make a list of my favorite GECs, so that jigged bone Waynorth lambsfoot may rank higher than top five.)

Harvey, your first pic reminds me of the 50-year high school reunion I attended a few weeks ago.:D Your second is timely and terrific!:thumbsup::cool:

Very interesting! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on so many levels, Gary!:cool::thumbsup:

You're living the dream, Vince! ;):cool: And Jack makes dreams come true.:thumbsup:

Your lambsfoot pair looks great, Preston!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'll try to remember to get a couple of better yucca shots for you.:)

Handsome pair of lambsfoots, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Astounding, breath-taking knives, FBC and Taylor!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I'm not "officially" carrying this RWLFHHB, but I'm still keeping it handy to mess around with:

Enjoying all your cannon/4th of July pics guys, hope everyone had a wonderful time :)

Good Morning Guardians
To all my fellow USA Guardians, hope you all have a safe and fun holiday today.
Thank you to all the Guardians from around the world for the wonderful Fourth of July greetings.

Smashing pic John, hope you had a great day :)

Nice find! Bummer about the blade. I’d be interested to hear how it goes with the stones and how it holds up to some slicing. Are the handles celluloid?

Neat opener. Never had a chance to try the beer, but I believe I have a Tetley’s bar towel. I’ll see if I can find it and snap a pic later.

To all the Guardians in the US, have a wonderful and safe Independence Day, however you are spending it. To everyone else, have a wonderful Thursday which builds momentum toward a fantastic weekend.

Thanks Greg, yeah, we'll have to see, I'd be surprised if the temper hasn't been affected :( The handles are Bexoid , though in Sheffield, they apply that name to any form of dark plastic. I was surprised to get the opener for just a couple of quid, as Tetley's stuff usually sells at a premium in and around Leeds. I took this pic when the brewery was being demolished.

Today, they have turned the old brewery offices into an art gallery.

Great finds, Jack. Too bad somebody torched the Lamb, but the bottle opener is very cool.

Thanks John

Good Morning Guardians. Be Safe, Happy, and Free.

Thank you to these Guys.

Excellent pics Harvey :)

I stumbled across this a few days ago. A purveyor of fine woodworking tools is selling a Sloyd knife styled after an example illustrated in the 1892 edition of “The Teacher’s Hand-book of Slöjd” by Otto Salomon.

Look familiar?

View attachment 1155518

Indeed! Good eyes!

We had a brief discussion about it a couple of years ago and about whether there are other traditional fixed-blade knives with a lambsfoot blade. I don’t recall there being another one that was such a good match.

For a modern, one-of-a-kind take on the fixed blade Lambsfoot, check out Guardian @Cambertree’s excellent Lambshank. You can find some posts about it in this page of the index.

That's fascinating isn't it? Thanks for the pic @Frailer and for finding those links Greg

There's a competitor from Leeds at Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest this year!:thumbsup:

Really?! Wonder if I know them! :D

My wife and I arrived home from NYC late Tuesday night. We'd taken the train down to see the "Play it Loud" exhibit at the MET, catch a Broadway show, meet some relatives visiting from Santa Barbara, and eat some good food (and walk 30 miles in the 5 days we were there!).

Many congratulations on your new Granddaughter Gary, that is great news :) I'm glad the Barlow made it OK. Thanks, once again for all you do here my friend :)

Wonderful patriotic pictures and comments from everyone!!!
My younger high school aged son went with some friends last night to watch fireworks from the top of a ski hill, he said it was fantastic.
I settled in with an old movie and a good beer while listening to the thunderous booms from beyond... :)

Thank you Vince, I hope you had a great 4th my friend :)

I have been busy, dog stuff, yard stuff and house stuff. Need to get ready for my hunting buddy's birthday...yes, born on the 4th of July.
IMG_1224.JPG

Well done, Vince.

Gary, that looks like a strain of yucca that is intended for decoration. Could you/would you taken one that shows it more clear and detailed? Thanks.

I assumed you would have...

Thanks for the explanation...sure like that photo!

Thanks Jack, interestingly, I pronounce it the same, I've used small, about 1 1/" long triangular pieces of it fishing for Crappie. It absorbs the water and when lighty jerked/pulled through the water simulates a minnow.

Thanks, Dennis, I do have my priorities and naps are right up there!

Chin, thanks, dogs are special creatures, with special abilities and senses. I read an article that said a pipeline company was using a Labrador Retriever to detect possible leaks from pipe buried six feet or more in the round.

Hope he had a great birthday Preston :) That's interesting about the shammy-lure, I've never heard of that before

Thank you, fellas, much appreciated!

Happy American Independence Day, folks!

That's some sweet ebony Dylan

You deserve them , Jack. If we lived closer I would throw you a big ol' party.

Thanks, Dwight.

Congratulations Gary and to the rest of the "Peregrin" family!
Fantastic example of the HHB , also.

Morning Guardians, I hope all our American members had a fantastic 4th July :) I imagine a few of you have taken Friday off to make a long weekend

I was a bit under the weather yesterday, and in did by 7.30pm! I did manage to get a hot-dog with some loaded fries and a coke earlier in the day though ;) I also received a fantastic gift package from Barry @gunstockjack yesterday, which among other things, contained the coolest of caps :) Barry, I'm wearing it now, and it will be a very treasured possession :) Thank you so much my friend

Lots to do today, and I'm about to head into town, but I wanted to call in a wish everyone a great day :)

Sorry to sound ignorant, where does/did one get one of the 'real lambsfoot knife' models I've seen cropping up on the threads?
