Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

RALF is back in pocket, and we enjoyed a little Formosa Jade Oolong this morning.

My rosewood Wright's is now a glovebox knife.

Ever since I absentmindedly left my house without a pocketknife I have taken steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again. The principal precaution is to keep a knife in the gloveboxes of our cars. The glovebox knife is a strange creature. It can't be something you're too fond of because of the likelihood that you won't see it for a long time, the best case scenario being that it is never called upon. On the other hand, it also has to be a knife you hold in high regard because if you do have need of it, you want a good knife.

The Wright's lambsfoot is perfect for the task. I find myself reaching for the WCLF on those occasions I want a straight edged blade. This way I can keep the Wright's honorably employed.

It happened to me once Christian, and my blood ran cold! I was also oddly off-balance! :D

Right?!

On the rare occasion I don't have a knife I am pretty bothered by it. Off-balanced is an apt description. I find myself continually patting my pocket where it would usually reside, as if doing so could magically cause it to reappear. I can easily go without my technological tether, but take away my knife and I get antsy. Go figure... o_O

I guess that for many of us here, a knife is the constant we've carried more than anything else. I've only been carrying a mobile phone about 18 years, but carrying a knife more than 50

I carried a knife before I carried a billfold, a pen, keys, or a wedding ring. Only things I've carried longer are a comb and a handkerchief. And maybe a wrist watch.

I guess this is one of the things that identifies us as old farts. Those who grew up plugged-in can't stand being disconnected. I find it liberating! :D

Thanks, Jack, it seems the older I get, the more civilized I get . . . mostly through attrition. :(

:D

Yeah, I might have had a handkerchief first, but I think a pocket knife came before everything else

Me too buddy :)

I LOVE turning off my phone, or leaving it at home, which I do often, at least if I am with my wife. I never leave my knife at home.

Good for you Vince :) I was talking to a young feller a while back, said he hadn't had a phone for a year or so, seemed to be managing OK :) Nice shot of your Barlow
