Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That Knife my friend..... Beautiful !!!!

It is absolutely my favorite and the most abused knife that I own.:thumbsup:
Others may kick it out of my pocket temporarily, but it is never long before it back in there.

Good Morning Guardians

Great stuff John :D And a nice pic there :)

Good morning Guardians! :) It’s great to be home. I hope y’all are all well! I brought this one home from Titusville. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to purchase this knife directly from Charlie @waynorth! :D

Congratulations Ron, what an absolute beauty :) Hope you had a fantastic trip

Jack Black Jack Black -Enjoyed your stories and pics this weekend!

Hope Jack and all the Guardians have a great week!

Here's a pic with a beautiful Hand carved Bamboo walking stick that I was given by my Grandfather around 1986. The carvings are exquisite.

Thank you Mark, what an incredible piece, the carving is absolutely gorgeous :)

I've had a busy day, but it also came with some rewards ;) :D

I treated myself to a blueberry croissant with my morning coffee ;)

Then I received a very generous gift package from @mitch4ging :) There was a knife too, but I'll show that elsewhere :)

Will you look at the size of that compass?!

This reminds me that I never posted these photos from a few months ago:

This is the waterwheel at Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park in St. Helena, California. It’s a neat place. The mill has been restored and they give demonstrations of it in action. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Napa County and are into this sort of thing.

Great pics thanks Greg, that's very impressive my friend :)

Here's a couple of Yorkshire water-wheels

Hello all! I'm sorry I've been absent lately. I've just gotten busy with a few other things and I'm not the multi-tasker I used to be. :D Hope all of you are humming along nicely my friends.
Thanks for the status report, Dwight. :):thumbsup: I don't think anyone is the multi-tasker they think they are!

You and Cracker Jack have a good time my friend.:cool::D
Thanks, Dave; we're sure trying! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, maybe I exaggerated a little. I would probably wear at least a sweater or light jacket in the 40s, maybe even low 50s.
...
A Texan who exaggerates?? :eek::D:D

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you G.T. That’s a beautiful well composed portrait of Cracker Jack.

I love all the Pie content. Definitely on my my bucket list to try. But until then, my absolute favorite kind is pizza. Here’s a homemade one.

Thanks, Harvey. :)
Fantastic photo of pizza and lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

Well, come on down here for a visit! It's gonna be 104 today, and won't get below 80 at night for some time to come.
I hate August.
...
I like summer, but those temps sound brutal!:(

...
Thank you very much, Gary!
I'm switching to stretchy pants soon!:D:thumbsup:

Beautiful photo, Gary! Hope to do some of that in the fall!:thumbsup:
...
Dennis, my daughter would say, "TMI!":p Hope you get some good lakeside enjoyment this fall!:cool::cool:

I just got in after my trip to Sheffield :) I had a lengthy visit to Wright's, and a good long chat with Michael, the new owner. ...
Thanks for the report from Wright's, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

...
The Yorkshire word for this condition is nesh GT, it is actually Old Norse ;)

Thanks a lot pal, I'm sure enjoying seeing Cracker Jack away with you on vacation :)
...
I'm feeling sort of Old Norse myself, Jack!:cool:
Union Jack is here with us, too, and the 3 of us have been spending a lot of time on the waterfront. ;):cool:

I'd like to thank all the Guardians for their well wishes and prayers, but the stress test did not go well. They say the results were abnormal, and I need to see a cardiologist. Unless he signs off on it next Tuesday, I can't have the neck surgery. I'm frustrated beyond words.
That sounds less than ideal, Jeff. :( I'll continue praying that you can get some relief ASAP without too much "red tape" from the health care system; I hope the cardiologist can give you good news Tuesday.:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear that, Jeff. That's stressful for you, I'm sure. Maybe there's an explanation and it's not as bad as you think. Hoping for the best for you.

That's a splendid, intriguing photo, Mark!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What are the green beams??

...
My greatest frustration was that after being injected with radioactive isotopes a couple of times I emerged with exactly zero superpowers.
:D:D Doesn't the development of superpowers sometimes take several years to appear?

Today, just as I was starting to worry about where my lambsfoot was on it's journey, my wife came in with package in hand after checking our mailbox :) Yeah ... finally

Buffed the ebony and oiled the joints :)

Wow, that ebony is really a rich uniform black after buffing, Dany!:cool::thumbsup: What sort of equipment/materials did you use for the buffing? If you made that bowl, I'll bet you know lots of wood secrets! ;) Congrats on the new lambsfoot!

That is some high-class snake, lamb, and Damascus all rolled into one knife, Harvey!:cool::cool:

...
It's great seeing your sunny shots. Our British summer has turned into, well, a British summer.
...
My pruner lambsfoot is my favourite pocket knife, the one I carry the most and the reason I ended up following this locomotive of a thread so closely. :D I do though have quite small hands so that could be the reason it fits so well as it's quite a small and narrow knife.

Crikey Rachel! You'd of been rolling round in laughter at the media hysterics we had to suffer in the UK a few weeks ago when we had about 5 days of ~90F weather (that's peak afternoon temp as well, not a daily constant).:rolleyes:
...
Thanks for the sunny comments, David. :) At the risk of instilling a fit of envy in @r8shell's personal thermostat, I have to say the weather in northern Michigan has been ideal so far: daytime sunshine and 70s, nighttime mostly 50s (on my morning walk at about 7am, I saw a 48˚ one morning and a 61˚ another as the extremes so far). If I were home, about 250 miles south, the temps would likely be at least 10 degrees higher, both day and night.

Great photo of your Eye of Sauron horn lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

My rosewood Union Jack has come on vacation as well. Here's a new pic of him:

Hi GT, I used the "Beall wood buffing system" that many wood turners use.
http://www.bealltool.com/products/buffing/buffer.php
I gave it a good buff with just the Tripoli wheel and was surprised by how much the ebony looks improved. I made sure I only touched the wood areas with the wheel as the metal will discolor the wheel and may ruin it for further wood turning polishing
I made that cocobolo bowl about 10 years ago, no finish on it except the one achieved with the Beall buffing system

[I could have sworn I posted a pic in #28334. I have now for sure.]

That's interesting Jer, who is the maker? I was looking at a nice Farrier's Knife with a Lambsfoot the other day

I'm glad they made it OK Jon :)

Thanks pal, great to see your IXL :)

I'm heading over to the English Peak District for a lengthy hike tomorrow. Going to be a long day as there's about 4 hours of travelling, as well as the hike itself. Hoping that the weather is going to be OK, and that my back (which has started hurting today) holds out

Hoping to get a few pics of course, and I'll have my trusty Hartshead Barlow with me :)

Take it easy but take it. Sounds like a great place for a strenuous walk.

Thanks Jack. Those are cool photos. I don’t know what it is about them, but I love seeing old waterwheels. I guess it’s probably got something to do with them being lasting testaments to human ingenuity.

Have a fantastic trip and hike, my friend. I hope your back just needs a little exercise to get it feeling better again.

A little over a week ago I spent three days backpacking in the Sierras with some friends. I’d share photos, but, unfortunately the lambsfoot that was in my pocket never found its way into any of them.
