Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Have a great day folks :) My thoughts are with you folks in Florida and the South East USA, stay safe

Thank you my friend, great pic :) I was on Boar Lane earlier, most of those buildings are still there, and Croisdale's cutlery showroom was located on one of the street corners in the middle of the photo

It's suddenly turned chilly here in Yorkshire, time for some pie I thought ;)

Thanks for the heads up, guys! I got PM's from AnW AnW and CelloDan CelloDan and have added both of them to the map. If anyone else would like to be added, just let me know!

Here's the link to the Guardians Map, as well, for anyone who may have missed it before. (We're up to 56 members on the map!)

Nice work Barrett :)

Great patina Jack!

Thanks Taylor, coming along :)

Looking good :)

That's a nice one

#20, Dan - pushing the envelope - er - water lily leaf, for knife safety. Shallow pond? ;)

Nice photo nonetheless
Hi Ray, it was very shallow at that spot, perhaps 2 inches deep. The Saint Lawrence waters are receding a lot at this time of the year. Something to do with the dams that control water flow in preparation for winter ... which I am already dreading.
(here is a pic for reference that did not make the cut :) )

I have a heartwarming tale to share this morning Guardians :) A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had been looking after my friend's kids for the day, and that we'd been out foraging and practicing knife and fire skills :)

@Reaper AL has two grandsons who like to read the Guardians thread, and having seen the pics I posted, one of the boys, who makes Paracord bracelets, asked Al to ask me if he could make some for my friend's kids. I was just amazed by this kind thought, what a fine young man :)

I got my pal to measure up the kids, and in no time at all a large box arrived at Grumble Towers, with a range of goodies from Al and his family. Al's grandson made a couple of bracelets for each of the kids, as well as one for me and their dad, plus some very nice key-chain attachments, and some spare Fire-cord for the boys' tinder kits. The kids have been very excited, and I know they're going to be so thrilled when they receive these gifts from a very kind young man and his grandfather :) Al also has granddaughter's, and having heard that a package was being sent across the Pond, one of them wanted to include something for my friend's daughter, so in addition to the cool bracelets, she has a couple of Beanie Boo's too :)

I am very impressed with my own bracelet, it's the first one I've had which actually fits me (a great piece of guesswork by Al)! :D As you can see it has a special buckle, with a ferro rod and striker (and whistle) to complement the Fire-cord (Paracord with waxed jute twine, which can be ignited even when wet)

Al also threw in some other goodies, a couple of Case belt sheaths and pocket slips, as well as a great pre-loaded leather strop, which I've already used (there's also a very special pocket knife).

I really can't thank Al and his family enough, and will post an update when I give the gifts to my friend's kids :) I'm sure Al's grandson's kindness has raised some big smiles in Guardianland, and that the meticulous quality of his workmanship is being admired - let me just add that this talented young man is six years old! I am just flabbergasted at the way Al and his family have reached out like this, and (honestly) I'm smiling so much my face is hurting! :D We see a lot of generosity here on The Porch, but I think this deserves a special mention :)

Great to see kids enjoying outdoorsy stuff Jack, and those paracord bracelets look great!

It sure seems that way, David. August should be in the high 70's/'80s even 90's it's averaging in the '60s this year :)

Aye but the difference between me and you is that for me this'll just merge into a damp and grimey Autumn, whereas you'll probably end up with icebergs on your high street. :D

Lazy Sunday, just hanging out with the L'il Lambsfoot. Still on soft food from oral surgery on Friday, but feeling a little better each day :)

Oh when I had dental surgery I just used it as an excuse to eat gallons of custard. And rice pudding. And custard with rice pudding. And rice pudding with custard on top... :D

Took my A. Wright with me to Paris. Couldn’t help but let the little guy shine while at the Medici fountain today

What a cool photo.

It's suddenly turned chilly here in Yorkshire...

You mean it went back to normal :D

It looks like you and your HHB are living the good life.
Great patina too!

If I had a extra 50 grand laying around I would buy this.

I thought all us Guardians had a spare 50K lying around...?? ;):D

Sorry for the late acknowledgement folks, my laptop keeps randomly uninstalling my browser. And again no photo as Imgur isn't working for me, again.
