Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

View attachment 1191745 Hey mate just saw your post. We had an official warning over here yesterday for the start of the snake season. This is a Brown Snake striking, "NOT GOOD". They say one drop of it's venom can kill up to 1000 mice. I know you said "Joe Blakes" do not worry you, but these are B------S of things, i have had 2 have a go at me when i have been out bush. You have a good weekend mate.
Rattlesnakes at least give you a warning...the quite and aggressive ones are a bit spooky! We have Cottonmouths here, which are aggressive, but fortunately only near water;

Then we had these *#@ Sand Vipers in the gulf, like we didn't have enough things to worry about!:D

Hope you don't have any run ins with your bumper crop of Browns!
Spiders are just so small and hang out in places you put your hands...:thumbsdown: .

Have a great weekend, mate!

By the way, i am going to give away one of my little secrets here, i still love a good old western movie. I scout the TV guide every week, to see if there are any western movies on a Saturday or Sunday Afternoon, record them, and watch them at my leisure. There my secret is out.
Nothing wrong with that!
I watch them a lot of times late at night when I can't sleep! John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Audie Murphy...all good!
Sounds like a good plan for this weekend, a few beers and a good western or two!

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you my friend. Lovely HHB.

Thanks Harvey :)

More stunning pics Dan :)

Today's harvest:

Jalapenos and serranos from our garden. These will be sliced and preserved together, using the same lacto fermentation process I described a while back. If the lambsfoot plays its cards right, it may get the honor of slicing duty. ;)

Super crop Greg, and it's made for a great pic :)

Jake and I had some sausage tacos today.

Those look TASTY! :)

:)
We certainly enjoy our walks ! Canadian winters put a damper on them :( .
Last year was extremely cold and icy. We still managed to walk some.
We hope this winter will be better, thinking into taking up snowshoeing

Hope you can still get out Dan :)

I'm reading this thread, even if I haven't posted lately. Maybe a superficial catch-up this weekend?
My lambsfoot since Monday has been Black Jack:

Black Jack is looking sweet as a peach GT :)

Two great photos and Lambs, Jack! And a cool looking compass!:thumbsup:

Thanks buddy, picked that compass up in a local flea-market

I can handle wild animals, snakes and about anything...but I hate spiders! :D
That rope is 1", and the Lamb ate right through it!:D:thumbsup:

That doesn't seem uncommon Dennis, those snakes you and cudgee cudgee have been showing look MEAN, the worst thing I am likely to come across on my hikes is a bad-tempered bull or an angry farm dog! :D Nice, the Lambsfoot was made for work my friend :)

Both look great, Jack!:thumbsup: ....I need to start drinking more! :p

...

Mine today...

Always welcome ;)

Morning Guardians, another week nearly done and dusted :) My mate has the day off work today, so I'm going to treat him to lunch, then we are picking up his kids from school, and I'll give them the paracord bracelets @Reaper AL 's grandson has kindly made them :) I'm not resisting the strange allure of this Hartshead Barlow anymore  Have a good Friday folks

Very nice, José, both knife and photo! I've been a bit absent lately, as during my surgical recovery I've been carrying lighter knives in my flimsy house pants. RALF is however near to hand, so I can keep an eye (or two!) on the rascal. ;)

Thank you so much Jeff and quick recovery.:)

I hope you're allowed to shoot them.
Except obviously you should whack off their heads with a lambsfoot as they strike.

I didn't do anything to the fireplace Norfolk Island pine with the old TEW, but I used it outside to slash the roots of a root-bound chrysanthemum and mix up a little soil amendment for it, and finished cutting back the forsythia where my shears had missed. The forsythia was brushing the car. I don't think it was scratching the car; just irritating me. You can't kill a forsythia, so I haven't done anything irreversible.

I’m going to try this thanks to your inspiration. I just started fermenting some spicy dilly beans.

Wonderful shot, Ron! Hope BIL is still improving!:thumbsup:
